Weifang Vocational College of Industry and Commerce is located in Zhucheng City, Shandong Province, which enjoys the reputation of "China Dragon City and the Hometown of Emperor Shun". It is located in the southeast of Shandong Peninsula, bordering the famous coastal city of Qingdao to the east, the emerging port city of Rizhao to the south, and the old revolutionary base of Linyi to the west. Zhucheng is one of the 12 counties (cities and districts) under the jurisdiction of Weifang, the world's kite capital. It is an excellent tourist city in China, a national health city, a national garden city, a demonstration county (district) of the National Intellectual Property Strong County Project, and the basic competitiveness of the county economy ranks among the top 100 in the country. Weifang Vocational College of Industry and Commerce is a full-time general higher vocational college approved by the Shandong Provincial People's Government and registered by the Ministry of Education in August 2005. The Zhucheng Municipal People's Government bears the financial investment and implements local management. In March 2016, in order to further improve the school level of Weifang Vocational College of Industry and Commerce and expand the influence of the college, the Zhucheng Municipal People's Government signed an agreement with Gaoke Education Holdings (Beijing) Group and Shandong Gaoke Education Technology Co., Ltd. to jointly organize Weifang Vocational College of Industry and Commerce and jointly create a high-end brand of vocational education. The school currently covers an area of 1,300 mu, with a building area of 280,000 square meters. It has 108 on-campus experimental training rooms and more than 220 off-campus training bases. It currently has 821 faculty members, including 723 full-time teachers, 202 with senior professional titles or above, and 272 teachers with master's and doctoral degrees. It recruits students from more than ten provinces across the country and has more than 18,000 students of various types. The school has 7 secondary colleges and 1 public teaching department, including the School of Marxism, the School of Economics and Trade, the School of Medical Care and Health, the School of Early Childhood Education and Art, the School of Mechanical, Electrical and Automotive Engineering, the School of Intelligent Information, and the School of Rural Revitalization; it offers 56 junior college majors and 2 “3+2” undergraduate majors; it has 3 national and provincial collaborative innovation centers, 1 national industry-education integration community, 1 Sino-foreign cooperative education project, 1 special training project for field engineers in Shandong Province, 1 Shandong Vocational Education Group, 1 new technology research and development center for Shandong universities, 2 Shandong skill master studios, 2 Shandong provincial teaching teams, 2 Shandong Huang Danian-style teacher teams, 1 Shandong vocational education teaching innovation team, 2 Shandong high-level professional groups, 3 Shandong characteristic professional construction points, 2 Shandong brand professional groups, and 23 Shandong boutique courses. While doing a good job in academic education, the school also undertakes some adult continuing education tasks, and carries out remote open education, online education, adult education, teacher education and social training for all walks of life, forming a professional secondary school, college, undergraduate, graduate and other academic qualification improvement system and a diversified social training model. The average annual number of training people reaches more than 160,000. Deepen the integration of industry and education, and the four parties of government, school, industry and enterprise will work together to actively promote the reform of the multi-subject talent training model. With group-based school-running as a new engine, the college actively builds a "platform of industry-education interest community" with entity operation, takes the lead in establishing the national pre-prepared food industry-education integration community, the provincial Shandong High-tech Vocational Education Group, and the municipal Weifang pre-prepared food industry industry-education integration community, absorbs the participation of local administrative departments, colleges and universities, industry associations, and enterprises in key industries, so that the four parties of government, school, industry and enterprise can exchange information and explore the quality management model of vocational education with professional co-governance, curriculum co-construction, faculty integration, talent co-education and evaluation co-promotion. It has established long-term and stable cooperative relations with more than 600 companies, including Hisense, Goertek, Beiqi Foton, Inspur, Xinuer Men's Wear, Huifa Group, etc. It also actively implements the "Industry Professors and Craftsman Mentors" campus activities, and hires a group of "heads of family" and entrepreneur alumni of domestic and well-known enterprises in Weifang, as well as outstanding craftsmen and inheritors of intangible cultural heritage of enterprises as industry professors and craftsman mentors every year, fully participating in the teaching, scientific research and internal management of the college, and actively building a community of shared destiny between the school and enterprises.
