Wuhan Civil Affairs Vocational College was founded in 1986. In April 2004, it was approved by the People's Government of Hubei Province, filed with the Ministry of Education, and upgraded to a higher vocational college. The school is affiliated to the Hubei Provincial Department of Civil Affairs and is a public full-time general higher vocational college in the civil affairs industry of Hubei. The school was established by the Ministry of Civil Affairs as a social work and elderly care service talent training center and a vocational skills appraisal and training base for "elderly care workers", and was elected as a member of the presidium of the China Elderly Care Industry and Education Alliance Council; it is the "Chairman Unit of the Hubei Funeral Industry Promotion Association"; it was identified by the Provincial Organization Department as the "Vocational Education and Skills Training Guidance Center for Demobilized Veterans in Hubei Province" and the "Hubei Civil Affairs Cadre Training Center". The school is located in the central urban area of Wuhan. The campus is adjacent to the "Wuhan China Optics Valley", sits on Fuhu Mountain, overlooks Nanhu Lake, has lush trees, and has a patchwork of architectural patterns. It has been rated as a "garden-style school". The school covers an area of more than 210,000 square meters, with a school building area of more than 100,000 square meters, a total value of fixed assets of 160 million yuan, and a total value of teaching equipment of more than 16 million yuan. With the approval of the Hubei Provincial Department of Education, it has cooperated with the Sydney International Management Institute of Australia to organize "specialization-undergraduate connection" education since 2019, introduce high-quality overseas resources, and jointly carry out vocational and technical education to enhance students' international competitiveness.
