Wuhan Optics Valley Vocational College is a full-time general higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Hubei Province and registered by the Ministry of Education. The school is a higher vocational college established in response to the Hubei Provincial People's Government's promotion of Internet+ and service to the Optics Valley high-tech industrial cluster. It is the only higher education institution named after Optics Valley in the country. The school is located in the hinterland of "China Optics Valley", on the shore of Tangxun Lake, the largest urban lake in the country, and on the shore of Canglong Island National Wetland Park. There are many educational and scientific research places such as Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Hubei Institute of Fine Arts, Hubei University of Economics, and 719 Research Institute in the surrounding area, high-tech enterprises such as Shengshi Baijie (Baidu), and humanities facilities such as Canglong Museum, providing students with unique advantages in science and technology, education, and humanities. The school has eight secondary colleges, including Internet+ College, Intelligent Manufacturing College, Big Data Business College, Human Settlement Engineering Design College, Big Health College, Optoelectronic Information College, Marxism College, and Continuing Education College, with a total of 32 majors (directions), taking into account continuing education, vocational appraisal, and industry enterprise training. The majors cover science, engineering, economics, management, education, and art.
