Wuhan Vocational College of Commerce is a full-time general higher education institution approved by the Hubei Provincial People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education. The school currently has two campuses in Wuhan and Hong'an, covering an area of 1,286.97 acres. The campus buildings are a combination of Chinese and Western styles, magnificent, and the campus environment is beautiful and elegant. It is known as one of the most beautiful higher vocational schools in Hubei. Since its establishment, the school has recruited students from more than 20 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) across the country, and has trained more than 60,000 high-quality technical and skilled talents for the society. In a comprehensive evaluation of 1,386 higher vocational colleges across the country in 2018, the school’s comprehensive educational strength ranked among the top 300; in 2021, it was approved as a high-level professional group project construction school in Hubei Province. The school currently has more than 16,000 full-time students and 1,033 faculty members, including 854 full-time teachers and 182 part-time teachers. Among full-time professional course teachers, 62.57% are “double-qualified” teachers. In the past five years, teachers have published a total of 634 papers, undertaken or presided over 102 national and provincial scientific research projects, been approved for 165 patents, and published 108 textbooks or monographs. Students have won 477 awards in various competitions, including 156 national awards and 165 provincial awards. The school consists of the School of Modern Business Technology, the School of Modern Management Technology, the School of Modern Information Technology, the School of Modern Industrial Technology, the School of Modern Art and Education, the School of Medical Nursing and Health, the School of General Education (Ideological and Political Theory Department) and the School of Continuing Education. There are 8 secondary colleges (departments) in total, offering 51 enrollment majors. Among them, there are 1 national backbone major, 2 provincial key majors, 1 provincial brand major, 2 provincial characteristic majors, and 1 provincial high-level construction professional group. In 2023, the school will be approved to have 1 base for the Hubei Province Skills Competition and 2 bases for the Wuhan City Skills Competition. There are 259 on-campus experimental training rooms and 118 off-campus internship and training bases.
