Wuhan Vocational College of Science and Technology is a general higher vocational college established in 2002 with the approval of the Hubei Provincial People's Government and the filing of the Ministry of Education. Since its establishment, the school has fully implemented the Party's education policy, closely focusing on the actual needs of social and economic development and industrial structure adjustment, with the fundamental principle of moral education, the purpose of serving development, the orientation of promoting employment, and the core of enhancing students' employment and entrepreneurship ability, actively adapting to the new normal of economic development and the growth and development of technical and skilled talents. Gradually formed a professional group with railways and urban rail transit as its characteristics, new technologies and intelligent manufacturing as its development direction, coordinated development of engineering, economics, management, and literature, and closely integrated with regional economic and social development, it has begun to have its own characteristics and enjoys a good social reputation. Wuhan Vocational College of Science and Technology was founded in 1993. Its predecessor was Wuhan Science and Technology Engineering School. In 2001, it was approved by the Hubei Provincial Department of Education and the Hubei Provincial Development and Planning Commission. Based on Wuhan Science and Technology Engineering School, it jointly established Wuhan Vocational College of Science and Technology with East Lake University. In April 2002, it was approved by the Hubei Provincial People's Government and filed with the Ministry of Education to formally establish Wuhan Vocational College of Science and Technology. The college is located in the prosperous Xudong business district of Wuhan City, close to the scenic East Lake Scenic Area, with beautiful environment and convenient transportation. The college is located on Tieji Road, surrounded by railway enterprises, and has a good school atmosphere. The college undertakes the pre-examination training task of electric locomotive drivers of China Railway Wuhan Bureau, and carries out diesel locomotive driver training. It cooperates closely with various railway bureaus, subway companies, intelligent manufacturing enterprises, and high-tech enterprises, adopts order training, and strictly trains in accordance with the requirements of enterprises. Students entering the school means employment, and they are booked by enterprises before graduation, and gradually formed a good reputation of "studying science and vocational education, good employment, and good employment". In March 2019, Shenzhen Metro came to our school for recruitment, and it was the one with the highest admission rate among the universities participating in the interview in Hubei, which fully proved that our students were recognized by enterprises. The college has 4 departments and 2 departments: Rail Transit Department, New Technology Department, Construction Engineering Department, Economic Management Department, Basic Course Department, and Continuing Education and Training Department. The current majors are: railway locomotives, urban rail transit vehicle technology, drone application technology, electronic information engineering technology, logistics management, architectural interior design, e-commerce, accounting and other majors. The college focuses on strengthening the construction of the teaching staff, focusing on teaching and taking employment as the guide, and has introduced and cultivated a high-quality education team with sufficient number, reasonable structure, new educational concepts, strong practical ability, and a spirit of reform and innovation. The teaching facilities are complete. There are railways for teaching on campus, including bogies, wheels and other railway equipment. There are 15 experimental training rooms such as subway simulation cabs and drone training rooms, 668 sets of teaching instruments and equipment, and complete teaching facilities to meet the teaching needs of professional courses.
