Xi'an Mingde Polytechnic is a full-time private general college approved by the Ministry of Education. The predecessor of the school was the Jinye Information Technology College of Northwestern Polytechnical University, which was jointly organized by Shaanxi Jinye Science and Education Group and Northwestern Polytechnical University in 1999. In 2005, it was upgraded to an undergraduate institution-Mingde College of Northwestern Polytechnical University with the approval of the Ministry of Education. Since 2014, the school has been upgraded to the second batch of undergraduate admissions in Shaanxi Province. In March 2020, the school was officially renamed Xi'an Mingde Polytechnic as the first batch of independent colleges in Shaanxi Province that passed the evaluation and assessment of the Ministry of Education. The school is located in the northern foot of the Qinling Mountains and the east bank of the Fenghe River in Chang'an District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. It is adjacent to the Chang'an Campus of Northwestern Polytechnical University and the Xi'an Samsung Electronics Technology Industrial Park. The campus covers an area of 610 acres and the school building area is 266,300 square meters. The school has strong faculty, advanced teaching equipment, excellent school infrastructure, a garden-like, information-based, and humanized campus environment, a fully functional practical teaching center, good sports venues, and perfect life service guarantees, etc., creating a beautiful and pleasant learning and living environment for the majority of students. The school has carried out extensive school-enterprise cooperation, and has cooperated with 79 companies such as ZTE, Kaibo Finance, Alibaba, Shell, DJI Innovation, and Suzhou Tianjue Technology, and established 67 off-campus practical education bases.
