Xiamen University, referred to as XMU (Xiamen University), was founded in 1921 by the famous patriotic overseas Chinese leader Mr. Tan Kah Kee. It is the first university founded by overseas Chinese in the history of modern education in China. It is also a university of the same age as the Communist Party of China.
