Xiangnan Preschool Teachers College (abbreviated as "Xiangnan Preschool College") is a full-time public general college approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government and registered by the Ministry of Education in March 2014. The school is located in the Longnv Hot Spring Tourist Resort in the north of Chenzhou City, covering an area of more than 330 acres and a building area of 150,000 square meters. The campus is surrounded by mountains and rivers, with a beautiful environment, convenient transportation, and quiet in a bustling city. It is an ideal place for students to study. Tracing back to its roots, the school has a history of more than 60 years of schooling. It has experienced the name change, merger, relocation and reorganization of many schools such as the former Hunan Yizhang Normal School, Hunan Dongjiang Normal School, Chenzhou Preschool Teachers School, Chenzhou Art School, and Chenzhou Normal School. Since its establishment, the school has trained more than 40,000 primary school teachers, more than 30,000 kindergarten teachers, and more than 10,000 graduates in other majors for the society. The school mainly trains primary school and kindergarten teachers, and at the same time cultivates various types of college and technical personnel urgently needed by the society. The school is the implementation unit of the "National Training Program" for preschool teachers confirmed by the Ministry of Education, the training base for primary and kindergarten teachers at the junior college level recognized by the Hunan Provincial Department of Education, and the training center for primary school principals, kindergarten principals and key teachers in Chenzhou City. In recent years, the school has been successively rated as "Hunan Civilized Campus", "Hunan May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Committee", "Hunan Advanced Unit for Graduate Employment", "Hunan Advanced Unit for Continuing Education of Primary and Secondary School Teachers", "Hunan Advanced Collective for Language and Writing Work", "Hunan Classic Recitation Specialty School", "Hunan Advanced Unit for Implementation of the 'National Training Program' Project", etc. The school currently has more than 7,000 full-time students, with students from Guangdong, Guangxi, Anhui, Yunnan, Guizhou, Qinghai, Gansu, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Chongqing, Hunan and other places; there are 407 faculty and staff, including 78 full and associate professors, 107 teachers with postgraduate degrees, and 1 special teacher. At present, the school has four colleges, namely, the College of Preschool Education, the College of Primary Education, the College of Art and Design, and the College of Continuing Education. It has opened 10 majors, namely, preschool education, early education, primary education, science education, music education, art education, dance education, performing arts, modern educational technology, and computer application technology.
