Xining City Vocational and Technical College was founded in January 2014. It is a public full-time comprehensive higher vocational school approved by the provincial government, registered by the Ministry of Education, and directly under the Xining Municipal Government. The school is the first batch of "National School First Aid Education Pilot Schools" of the Ministry of Education, the first batch of "Three-dimensional Education" comprehensive reform pilot units in Qinghai Province, and the first batch of "Provincial Safe Demonstration Campuses". In 2021, the Ministry of Education held the National Vocational College Skills Competition (higher vocational group tour guide service) in Qinghai for the first time. The school became the first higher vocational college in Qinghai Province to host the National Vocational College Skills Competition, and successfully held it for 2 consecutive sessions. In 2021, the school won the "Outstanding Contribution Award" of the National Vocational College Skills Competition. School conditions: The school is located in Qinghai Higher Education Park, No. 295 Ningzhang Road, Chengbei District, Xining City, Qinghai Province, covering an area of 391.8 acres, with a construction area of 114,000 square meters (including 66,129 square meters of teaching and auxiliary rooms and 40,875 square meters of student living rooms), and a green area of 116,000 square meters. There are 227,000 books (500,000 electronic books). School scale: The school currently has 125 teaching classes and 4,163 students. There are 2,710 ethnic minority students, accounting for 65%; among them, 1,890 Tibetans, accounting for 45.4% of the total number of students. In recent years, the school has achieved remarkable results. The employment rate and professional matching rate of graduates have been among the top vocational colleges in Qinghai Province for several years. In 2022, the school was rated as an advanced unit for employment of college graduates in Qinghai Province. Faculty: The school currently has 350 faculty and staff, 7 doctoral students, and 77 master's degrees. There are 3 senior professional titles and 24 deputy senior professional titles. Among the faculty and staff, there are 143 members of the Communist Party of China, 10 members of democratic parties, and 78 ethnic minorities. Among the teachers, there are 2 national young job experts, 2 national "People's Learning Stars", 4 high-end innovative and entrepreneurial talents (outstanding talents) in Qinghai Province, 3 mentors in the provincial youth vocational skills tutor pool, 25 entrepreneurship training (SYB) teachers in Qinghai Province, 1 Xining craftsman, 2 hosts of Xining Master Studio, 1 host of Xining Excellent Teacher Studio, 1 talent in the fifth batch of Xining "Talent Attraction and Talent Gathering 555" plan, Qinghai Province "Kunlun Talents·High-end Innovative and Entrepreneurial Talents", and 8 teachers were selected as national curriculum ideological and political teaching teachers and teaching teams. The preschool education major group is the "double high" construction major group of Qinghai Province, and the tourism management major group is the provincial "double high" construction (cultivation) major group. Advertising art design and preschool education are national backbone majors and brand majors in Xining City. Advertising art design, garden technology, automobile maintenance and detection technology, preschool education, and tourism management are the key majors of the college, and cooking technology and nutrition, and electrical automation technology are the college's characteristic majors. School-enterprise cooperation and base construction: The school has currently established cooperative relations with 137 enterprises, signed cooperation agreements with 53 enterprises, established 33 off-campus training bases, 115 student internship enterprises, 94 enterprises participating in the construction of dual-qualified teachers, 112 regular internship practice technical guidance for school-enterprise interaction, and 132 teacher practice enterprises. The school and enterprises jointly built 45 on-campus training bases, including the Zhongke Qinghai Innovation Education College, the Xinchuang Talent Training Base, the Haier COSMPIat (Industrial Internet Platform) Intelligent Training Base, the Smart Transportation Transformation Base, the Qinghai Tourism Culture and Creative Training Base, and the Purple Fruit Spruce Ex-situ Conservation and Breeding Base. In 2023, the school was rated as the National Common Language Training Base for the Warmth Project.
