Xinjiang Shihezi Vocational and Technical College was approved by the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in 2004 and registered by the Ministry of Education. It is a public general higher vocational college affiliated to Shihezi City, the Eighth Division. It is a multi-level, multi-disciplinary and multi-form comprehensive vocational college integrating vocational and undergraduate joint operation, higher vocational education, five-year system, adult education (including undergraduate), training, etc. The college is one of the 100 national "model higher vocational colleges", "national rural revitalization talent training quality school", the first batch of modern apprenticeship pilot units in the country, the national "high-skilled talent training demonstration base", the national "dual-qualified" teacher training base (the only one selected in the Corps), the first batch of "national skill foundation engineering training base" (the only vocational college selected in Xinjiang), the second batch of national vocational education teacher teaching innovation team project construction units of the Ministry of Education, the only college in Xinjiang that trains "directly recruited sergeants", and the Corps "Double High Plan" construction college. It has been approved by the Ministry of Education as one of the two undergraduate vocational colleges to be built in the Corps. It offers 3 joint vocational and undergraduate majors, 52 higher vocational majors, 5 national key majors, and 2 Corps specialty majors; it has built 2 national professional teaching resource libraries, 120 online courses, and 18 quality courses; it has 5 scientific research affiliated institutions and 10 national experiments and training rooms, and has built 9 academician Chen Xuegeng's guidance workstation, Ma Guanghui Master Studio, Yang Jianli Model Worker Innovation Studio, National Skill Master Master Studio, Corps-level "Dual-qualified" Master Studio and Ideological and Political Master Studio; it has 2 national vocational skill appraisal institutes, which can conduct professional qualification appraisals for 109 types of work for intermediate, senior workers, and technicians; it has built 1 national general language testing station. It has built 2 "1+X" provincial examination centers, undertaken 31 "1+X" certificate pilots, and the "double certificate rate" of graduates has reached 100%. Completed talent training, social training and skills appraisal for more than 50,000 people. Won 19 awards in the National Vocational College Skills Competition, including 1 first prize (won the first prize in the "Product Digital Design and Development" competition of the National Vocational College Skills Competition (Secondary Vocational Group) in 2023), 3 second prizes, 15 third prizes, and won 173 provincial skills competitions. Won 17 national awards, 1 gold medal, 4 silver medals, 12 bronze medals, and 100 Corps-level awards in the National "Internet +" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
