Xinjiang University of Political Science and Law is a public undergraduate college established by Shihezi University of Science and Technology with the approval of the Ministry of Education, integrating the educational resources of the Xinjiang Police College under the care of the Party Central Committee. The school is located in Tumushuke, a major city on the Silk Road and a new city of reclamation. It undertakes the responsibility and mission of cultivating high-quality legal talents and border guards in the new era for the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, Xinjiang and even the country. The school adheres to the discipline construction idea of "complete basic disciplines, outstanding political and legal characteristics, and a distinct background of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps", focusing on creating characteristic professional clusters such as political and legal, judicial police, and foreign-related economic and trade. At present, 8 teaching units have been established, including the School of Law, the School of Judicial Police, and the School of Information and Network Security. There are 27 undergraduate majors, including law, national security, counter-terrorism policing, cyberspace security, data science and big data technology, financial management, cross-border e-commerce, and dance. There are more than 500 teachers on the payroll and aid-construction basis, recruiting students from 31 provinces (cities and regions) across the country, with more than 10,000 students on the roll. The planned area of the campus is 2,600 acres, and 1,500 acres have been built. In order to improve the professional quality of students, the school has vigorously promoted the construction of various laboratories. In the past three years, it has invested nearly 47 million yuan to build more than 20 professional specialty laboratories such as mock courts, digital courts, virtual simulations, sandbox simulations, prison evidence, digital finance, computer professional networks, and electronic technology physics. There are standardized sites for Mandarin proficiency tests and national college English test sites for level 4 and level 6. To promote teaching and learning through competitions, teachers and students of the school actively participate in various competitions. Participated in the finals of the National College Teachers Teaching Innovation Competition and won 3 provincial second prizes, 1 third prize, and 2 excellent prizes. Participated in the ideological and political course competition and won the provincial second prize. Participated in the Corps Young Teachers Teaching Competition and won 1 first prize, 3 second prizes, and 1 third prize in the liberal arts group, and 7 excellent prizes in the liberal arts group, science group, and ideological and political group. In 2024, the school won the Outstanding Organization Award. Participated in the 2023 College Students' "Internet +" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, won 2 Corps-level second prizes and 5 third prizes, and was shortlisted for 2 projects in the national competition and won the third prize. Participated in the finals of the 12th and 13th "Challenge Cup" of the Corps and won 5 third prizes. Participated in the National College Students Mathematical Modeling Competition and won 3 first prizes in the Xinjiang Division. Research promotes teaching and research promotes learning. In recent years, the school has obtained more than 20 national social science, Corps social science and autonomous region social science fund projects at all levels. The school attaches great importance to foreign exchanges and cooperation. In 2022, China University of Political Science and Law took the lead in signing a counterpart support cooperation agreement with our school and was confirmed by the Ministry of Education. So far, it has signed counterpart support or strategic cooperation agreements with 13 universities including Zhongnan University of Economics and Law. In July 2023, the school officially joined the National Alliance of Political and Legal Universities and became a member of the "Lige Alliance". The school actively participates in the political and legal fields and the construction of prefectures, cities and divisions, and has signed strategic cooperation agreements with the Corps Justice Bureau, the Corps Public Security Bureau, the Corps Prison Administration, the Kashgar Prefectural Committee, the Hotan Prefectural Committee, the Ninth Division Baiyang City, the Fourteenth Division Kunyu City, the Bachu County Committee, and the Third Division Political and Legal Committee.
