Xinyu University is located in Xinyu City, a new industrial city in Jiangxi Province. Xinyu is a national forest city, a national garden city, and a national model city for greening. In 1930, Comrade Mao Zedong left his brilliant work "Rejuvenating the Country" in Luofang, Xinyu. Xinyu University is a university that coexists, prospers, and grows together with Xinyu City. In 1983, Xinyu was reopened, and the predecessor of Xinyu University, Xinyu Vocational University, came into being in 1985. In June 1992, Xinyu College was established; in March 2010, it was upgraded to undergraduate level with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It is the only public undergraduate college in Xinyu City. The campus covers an area of 2,000 acres, the school building area is 450,000 square meters, the total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 250 million yuan, the library has 1.68 million paper books, 1.38 million electronic books, and a network bandwidth of 20G. There are 830 faculty members and more than 16,000 students. There are 13 secondary colleges including New Energy Science and Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer, and Construction Engineering. There are 36 enrollment majors, including 25 science, engineering, and medical majors. Since its establishment, the school has trained more than 80,000 graduates. The school took the lead in launching the transformation and development work among the universities in the province, vigorously promoted "industry-education integration, school-enterprise cooperation", and embarked on a transformation and development path with the characteristics of local applied undergraduate universities. It was approved as the first batch of transformation and development pilot universities in Jiangxi Province, the only "general and vocational integration" reform pilot university in the province, and the first batch of universities in the Ministry of Education's Industry-Education Integration Innovation Base, and was selected as the second batch of 1+X certificate system pilot universities of the Ministry of Education. The school took the lead in establishing the Jiangxi Real Estate Construction Industry Science and Technology Innovation Consortium, which currently has multiple provincial scientific research platforms such as the Jiangxi Provincial Key Laboratory of New Materials and Applications of Solar Cells, the Jiangxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Silicon Materials in Colleges and Universities, the Jiangxi Provincial Prefabricated Building Green Construction Technology Engineering Research Center, and the Jiangxi Provincial Transportation and Postal Integration Rural E-commerce Logistics Engineering Research Center. The quality of students in the school has gradually improved, and the highest admission score in 2023 is 8 points higher than the first-tier line. The implementation results of graduates' employment destinations have been higher than the average level of similar colleges in the province for many years, and the number of students admitted to the State Grid has been ranked second among colleges and universities in the province for many years. The number of people taking the postgraduate examination and the admission rate have increased significantly, and the admission rate of some secondary colleges has reached 30%.
