Xinzhou Normal University was founded in 1958. It is a full-time undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education in March 2000. It is one of the three undergraduate normal colleges in our province. It is the first batch of national "Talent Training Model Innovation Experimental Zone" determined by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance. It was awarded the honorary title of "Advanced Unit of 'Two Basics' Work" by the State Council. The school covers an area of 1,619 acres and a building area of 450,000 square meters. There are more than 19,700 full-time undergraduate students. There are 1,285 faculty and staff, including 953 full-time teachers, 60 professors, 275 associate professors, and 186 doctors. 7 high-level talents are flexibly introduced. The school currently has 1 academic and technical leader in Shanxi Province, 9 selected candidates for the Shanxi Province "Sanjin Talents" support plan, 7 famous teachers in Shanxi Province, 5 outstanding young and middle-aged innovative talents in Shanxi Province's "131" colleges and universities, and 43 part-time doctoral and master's tutors. The school currently has 43 undergraduate majors, covering 9 disciplines including law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, management, economics, and art. There is 1 national first-class undergraduate major construction site, 3 specialty majors determined by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance, 1 national comprehensive reform pilot major, and 8 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites and provincial advantage specialty majors. There is 1 advantage and specialty discipline of Shanxi Province's "1331 Project", 5 key supported disciplines in Shanxi Province; 1 cultivation project of Shanxi Province's "Service Industry Innovation Discipline Cluster Construction Plan", 1 Shanxi Province Collaborative Innovation Cultivation Project, 1 new R&D institution in the field of industry and information technology in Shanxi Province, 1 key research base for humanities and social sciences in Shanxi Province's colleges and universities, 3 excellent traditional cultural inheritance bases in Shanxi Province, and 1 scientific research base of Shanxi Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau; 24 provincial first-class courses and high-quality courses; 2 provincial key laboratories of colleges and universities, and 8 provincial general colleges and universities experimental teaching demonstration centers. Yuan Haowen research and Wutaishan culture research are at the leading level. Since 1997, the school has creatively carried out poverty alleviation internship teaching work, and established a "three-in-one" collaborative education mechanism among normal colleges, local governments, and primary and secondary schools.
