Ya'an Vocational and Technical College is located in Ya'an City, which is known as the "Lung of Tianfu, Hometown of Pandas", "Throat of Western Sichuan", "Gateway to Tibet" and "National Corridor". The school has more than 70 years of school-running heritage, and has accumulated rich school-running resources, school-running experience and strong school-running strength. It is a provincial "Double High Plan" construction unit, a provincial high-quality vocational college, and a provincial demonstrative vocational college. The school currently has three campuses, namely the Economic Development Zone Campus, the Qingnian Road Campus and the Yucai Road Campus, covering an area of more than 830 acres, with more than 18,800 students, and recruiting students from nearly 20 provinces and cities across the country. The majors of medical imaging technology and preschool education are characteristic leading majors supported by the central government, and the nursing major is listed as a national project for the training of skilled talents in short supply. Nursing, pharmacy, and medical imaging technology majors are key majors in the Ministry of Education's Higher Vocational College Innovation and Development Action Plan. Nursing and medical imaging technology majors have been approved as pilot projects for the reform of vocational education talent training at the undergraduate level in Sichuan Province in 2022. The school has 22 training centers, and the nursing training base and the pharmacy biopharmaceutical training base are national vocational education training bases supported by the central government. There are national intangible cultural heritage inheritors of Heisha and Tibetan tea master studios, national skill master studios, provincial nursing master studios, and Ya'an Academician (Expert) Workstations. More than 10 bases have been built, including the Sichuan Provincial Continuing Education Base for Professional and Technical Personnel, the Sichuan Rural Doctor Training Base, and the Sichuan Provincial High-skilled Talent Training Base. A national-level vocational skills appraisal station and a national medical caregiver training project workstation have been built. Medical and educational collaboration has built the "Western Sichuan Medical Education Center" and the "Western Sichuan Disabled Children Rehabilitation Center", becoming an important training base for medical and educational talents in the western ethnic minority areas.
