Yangzhou University Guangling College is located in Yangzhou, the United Nations "Best Habitat Award", "World Food Capital", and one of the first national historical and cultural cities. It is located in the core area of two national parks - Economic and Technological Development Zone and High-tech Industrial Development Zone. It is surrounded by water on three sides. The garden-style campus is intelligent, ecological, open, and humanized. The college was founded in 1998 and was approved by the Ministry of Education to be established as an independent college in May 2005. The organizer of the college, Yangzhou University, a century-old prestigious university, currently has 22 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 48 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, and 20 postdoctoral mobile stations; it has 3 national key disciplines (cultivation), more than 3,100 doctoral and master's supervisors, 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and 1 foreign academician. It is a university jointly built by the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Education, a key comprehensive university in Jiangsu Province, and a university supported by the Jiangsu High-level University National Top 100 Provincial University Construction Plan. It is one of the first batch of doctoral and master's degree awarding institutions in the country. The college currently has seven departments (divisions), including the Department of Liberal Arts, the Department of Economics and Management, the Department of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, the Department of Civil and Electrical Engineering, the Department of Chemical Engineering and Medicine, the Department of Tourism and Art, and the Basic Department, with 38 undergraduate majors, covering eight major disciplines, including economics, law, literature, science, engineering, agriculture, management, and art.
