Yangzhou Sino-Swiss Hotel Vocational College (YHI) is a full-time general higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and registered with the Ministry of Education, with the qualification of independently issuing academic diplomas. The school was founded by Mr. Zhang Li, co-chairman and president of R&F Group, which ranks among the top 10 in China in terms of comprehensive real estate strength. It cooperates with the Swiss Hotel Association (SHA) and is the first higher vocational college in China to join the SHA alliance. It fully introduces and adopts the talent training model of "alternating work and study, integrating theory and practice" (referred to as the "Lausanne model") held by the Ecole Hotelière de Lausanne (EHL, which is the world leader in hotel education) to carry out education and teaching. The school has three secondary colleges: Sino-Swiss Hotel College, Tianli Architecture College, and United College, with 26 majors for enrollment. There are 22 supporting training bases in total, forming a distinctive professional training base with hotel management, catering services, Western food technology and other majors as the main features. Including teaching hotels (four-star and five-star guest rooms), Chinese kitchens, western kitchens, Chinese restaurants, western restaurants, Chinese and Western pastry rooms, cold dish rooms, demonstration kitchens, cafes and bars, wine tasting rooms, tea tasting rooms, studios, and professional computer rooms, etc. Training venues fully meet the students' training needs. The school actively introduces international advanced educational resources and implants the advanced educational concepts and educational models of the Swiss Lausanne Hotel Management School into the school's teaching.
