Yinchuan Institute of Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as "the school") was formerly the Yinchuan College of China University of Mining and Technology. It was founded in 2005 and officially established in 2008. In May 2021, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was renamed "Yinchuan Institute of Science and Technology". The school is located in Yinchuan, the capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The campus covers an area of 757,500 square meters, with 157,300 square meters of teaching and administrative buildings. There are 103 experimental training rooms of various types built on campus; 184 off-campus practical teaching bases have been established, with a total value of 104.5602 million yuan in teaching and scientific research equipment, and 4.053 million books (including electronic books). The school currently has 20,044 undergraduate and junior college students (including 19,248 full-time students and 796 other types of students), a total of 19,327.6 students, 523 full-time teachers, 467 external teachers, and a student-teacher ratio of 19.52:1. Among them, there are 409 teachers with master's and doctoral degrees, accounting for 78.20% of the full-time teachers. There are 317 teachers with associate senior professional titles or above, accounting for 31.54% of the full-time teachers; there are 170 "dual-qualified and dual-capable" teachers, accounting for 32.50%. The school has 6 secondary colleges and 49 undergraduate and junior college majors, and has initially formed a professional layout of coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as engineering, management, art, literature, and education. At present, it has 2 autonomous region-level talent training model innovation experimental areas, 3 autonomous region-level "13th Five-Year Plan" key construction majors (groups), 5 autonomous region-level production and education integration talent training demonstration majors, 12 autonomous region-level first-class professional construction points, 44 autonomous region-level first-class course construction points, 10 autonomous region-level first-class grassroots teaching organization construction points, 1 autonomous region-level innovative education pilot college, 2 autonomous region-level "Huang Danian-style teacher teams in colleges and universities", and 1 autonomous region-level modern industry college. In the past three years, it has won 1 first prize for national vocational education teaching achievements and 3 second prizes for autonomous region-level higher education teaching achievements.
