Yuanpei College of Shaoxing University of Arts and Sciences was established in January 2000. It is a full-time undergraduate independent college approved by the Ministry of Education of China and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province. It is one of the first batch of application-oriented construction pilot undergraduate colleges in Zhejiang Province. The college is named after Mr. Cai Yuanpei, a modern educator and thinker. Adhering to the spirit of "freedom of thought and inclusiveness", the college motto is "improving morality and learning", cultivating high-quality application-oriented talents with good social responsibility and humanistic qualities, solid professional knowledge and skills, strong application practice ability, innovation and entrepreneurship ability and sustainable development ability. The college is located in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, one of the first batch of historical and cultural cities in the country. It is located in Jinghu Science and Education Park in the urban area, with convenient transportation and superior geographical location. The campus covers an area of 1,094.6 acres. The total area of the library is nearly 30,000 square meters, with 1.0372 million paper books, and more than 50 databases of various types, including "China Journal Network Full-text Database", "Wanfang Data Resource System", "China Science and Technology Journal Full-text Database", "China Dissertation Full-text Database", and "Super Star Journal Database". The college currently has 32 undergraduate majors, including 4 provincial first-class professional construction sites, 1 provincial key major, 3 provincial emerging specialty majors in the "12th Five-Year Plan", and 1 provincial specialty major in the "13th Five-Year Plan". There is currently 1 provincial experimental teaching demonstration center, 1 provincial key construction experimental teaching demonstration center, 1 provincial off-campus practical education base for college students, 2 municipal key innovation teams, and 5 municipal key laboratories and research bases. There are 9 branches including the Language and Literature Branch, Economic Management Branch, Construction Engineering Branch, Information and Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Branch, Medicine and Health Branch, Textile Clothing and Art Design Branch, Marxism Branch, Liang Baitai Law School, and Public Basic Education Branch, with 8,141 students. The college has a faculty team with both moral integrity and talent, a combination of full-time and part-time positions, and a reasonable academic title structure. Among them, 62.89% of full-time teachers have postgraduate degrees, and 36.39% of teachers have senior professional titles. The college actively connects with market demand and deepens the integration of industry and education. Focusing on the pillar and emerging industries of Shaoxing, 10 "1+N" professional groups have been constructed, focusing on strengthening the construction of four characteristic and advantageous professional clusters, including the textile and clothing creative design professional group, the construction engineering professional group, the advanced manufacturing technology professional group, and the business administration professional group. It has established comprehensive cooperative relations with enterprises and institutions such as Zhejiang Zhenyuan Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Southern Surveying and Mapping Technology Co., Ltd., and Shaoxing Small and Medium Enterprises Textile Promotion Association, and established special classes named after enterprises such as "Zhenyuan Medical Class", "Southern Surveying and Mapping Class", and "Tailong Bank Talent Class". Four industrial colleges, including the first "Tencent Cloud Internet College", "Harbin Institute of Technology Haidu Robotics College", "Guanglianda Digital Architecture College", and "Xindao Digital Intelligence Cloud Finance College" in Zhejiang Province, have been established successively. At the same time, the college has cooperated with Zhejiang Tusheng Technology Co., Ltd., the Propaganda Department of the Shaoxing Municipal Party Committee and other enterprises and institutions to jointly build a number of scientific research service platforms and new think tanks such as the "ASEAN Economic Research Institute" and the "Shaoxing Cultural Industry Research Institute". In recent years, it has been approved for 184 provincial-level teaching connotation construction projects, hosted 8 national-level scientific research projects, 44 provincial and ministerial-level scientific research projects, and obtained 517 authorized patents. The college attaches great importance to international exchanges and cooperation, and strives to create international characteristics of education. It has established inter-school cooperation relations with more than 20 universities in Germany, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Malaysia and other countries (territories). The college actively builds a platform for teachers and students to study abroad, exchange and learn, cooperates with Japan's Musashi Urawa Japanese Language School to carry out the "Famous School Master's Program", cooperates with South Korea's Kyung Hee University to carry out the "3.5+2.5" MBA program, and signs a 3+1 undergraduate and master's degree program with many British universities. It has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with universities such as the University of Sarawak in Malaysia to carry out long-term and short-term student exchanges, teacher visits, and doctoral-level teacher training. The results of college students' science and technology competitions remain at the forefront of independent colleges in the province, especially in the college students' mathematical modeling competition, college students' robot competition, college students' information security competition, and college students' structural design competition. The atmosphere of innovation and entrepreneurship among college students is strong. The College Student Entrepreneurship Park is the first Class A college student entrepreneurship park in Shaoxing City to pass the acceptance, and it has been recognized as the fourth batch of provincial entrepreneurship incubation demonstration bases; "Yuan Chuang Space" has been rated as a municipal and provincial "mass innovation space"; the college is also the only independent college in the province that has been selected to host the Zhejiang Province College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Capacity Improvement Action Plan Training Demonstration Class.
