Yunnan Mechanical and Electrical Vocational and Technical College is located in Kunming, the spring city in the south of the colorful clouds, at the foot of the "North Winding" Changchong Mountain, with an elegant environment and convenient transportation. It is now implementing integrated joint schooling with Yunnan Trade and Economics School and Yunnan Business Information Engineering School. The school covers an area of about 600 mu, with a building area of about 170,000 square meters and fixed assets of 710 million yuan, of which the total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 117 million yuan, and the library has a collection of about 600,000 books. There are four campuses: the main campus (No. 704, Longquan Road, Panlong District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province), Yanglin Campus (No. 1, Wenyuan Road, Songming Vocational Education New Town, Kunming City), Trade and Economics Campus (No. 27, Longxin Road, Panlong District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province), and Business Campus (No. 25, Longxin Road, Panlong District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province). The school has seven teaching units, including the School of Mechanical Engineering, the School of Electrical Engineering, the School of Transportation Engineering, the School of Information Engineering, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Marxism, and the Basic Teaching Department (Sports Department), and offers 53 higher vocational majors. At present, there are more than 12,000 full-time college students and international students, and more than 600 faculty and staff (including the integrated joint school of three schools). There are 5 key majors supported by the central government, 8 national high-level backbone majors, 10 provincial high-level backbone majors, 1 national vocational college equipment manufacturing demonstration major (CNC technology major), 3 provincial characteristic majors, and 4 provincial majors for improving the ability of professional service industry development. The school adheres to the development planning goals of the national equipment manufacturing industry, closely follows the urgent needs of Yunnan Province's modern industrial system construction and advanced manufacturing development, actively serves and integrates into the country's "Belt and Road" initiative, and takes "consolidating traditional electromechanical key majors, developing aviation service specialty majors, looking forward to emerging majors in the industry, and piloting higher vocational undergraduate majors" as the main direction. Optimize the professional layout, strengthen connotation construction, and build a national "mechatronics technology" professional group as the guide. The provincial "Double High Plan" school has two provincial high-level professional groups (electrical automation professional group, CNC technology professional group) as an advantage, driving the coordinated and synchronous development of six school-level specialty professional groups in automotive technology, aircraft technology, big data technology, logistics management, financial accounting, and food testing, forming a "1+2+6" "national-provincial-school" three-level professional group development system, providing high-quality talent support for the China-Myanmar oil and gas pipeline, the Pan-Asia Railway construction, the national low-altitude opening strategy, and the construction of a radiation center facing South Asia and Southeast Asia. The school has built 44 on-campus training bases, 103 off-campus training bases, 4 "factories in schools", and is promoting the construction of "schools in factories", "schools in parks", "schools in districts" and industrial colleges.
