1. Development Overview Yunnan Vocational College of Land and Resources is an independently established state-owned public higher vocational college. It is one of the first two full-time higher vocational colleges established in Yunnan Province, and one of the first two "provincial exemplary higher vocational colleges" to be built. The administrative department of the school was changed from the original Yunnan Provincial Bureau of Geological and Mineral Exploration and Development to the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education on October 11, 2018, which became a new milestone in the history of the school's development. The school was selected as a high-level higher vocational school and a high-level professional group construction unit in Yunnan Province in 2022. The school has always adhered to the school-running philosophy of "taking root in the land, consolidating resources, being able to be a professional, and cultivating people with morality", firmly adhering to the school-running orientation of "based in Yunnan, facing the whole country, and radiating the surrounding areas", actively integrating into the 3815 development strategy of the Provincial Party Committee, focusing on the "1958" strategic layout determined by the second party congress of the school, anchoring the "double high" construction tasks and the "14th Five-Year Plan" development strategy, and making every effort to create a "land model" for the high-quality development of Yunnan's higher vocational education. The university currently has three campuses in Yangzonghai, Economic Development Zone, and Wuding. The campus covers a total area of 1,051 acres, with a teaching and administrative area of 151,180.45 square meters, a total value of teaching and scientific research equipment of 82.3901 million yuan, 730,224 paper books, and 622,331 electronic books. There are currently 19,700 full-time higher vocational college students. As of January 7, 2024, the school has 539 faculty and staff, including 371 full-time teachers, 198 part-time teachers (external hires), 148 senior professional titles, and 11 people with doctoral degrees. There are 2 national outstanding teachers and outstanding educators, 1 famous teacher of ideological and political education in the Ministry of Education, 6 provincial famous teachers, 5 "famous teachers" in the Yunnan Ten Thousand People Plan, 1 person with special allowance from the Yunnan Provincial Government, 1 outstanding professional and technical talent with outstanding contributions in Yunnan Province, 3 outstanding teachers and educators in Yunnan Province, 1 "Yunling Craftsman", and 1 advanced collective in education in Yunnan Province. After more than 60 years of educating and educating people, passing on the torch through wind and rain, Yunnan Vocational College of Land and Resources has formed relatively distinct industrial characteristics, industry characteristics, professional characteristics, training characteristics, "product" characteristics and cultural characteristics. The school has now become the main training base for high-quality skilled talents in land and resources in the western region. In 2005, it passed the assessment of the talent training level of higher vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education with a "good" grade; in November 2011, it won the "National Outstanding Contribution Award for the Cultivation of Geological Exploration and Drilling Skilled Talents"; at the end of 2012, it successfully passed the characteristic assessment of the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education and was awarded "Characteristic Pass"; in 2012, it was rated as "the university with typical experience in employment summary and publicity work in the province in 2012-2013" by the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education; in December 2014, the college won the "National Outstanding Contribution Award for the Cultivation of Skilled Talents"; in 2015, the school was listed as the first batch of modern apprenticeship pilot units by the Ministry of Education, and successfully passed the acceptance in 2018 and received high praise. In 2016, the college won the first prize for employment and entrepreneurship in colleges and universities in Yunnan Province; in December 2017, the college was selected as the "Experimental School for the Construction of Digital Campus for Vocational Colleges" by the Ministry of Education; in June 2019, the college was selected as the first batch of pilot colleges for the "1+X" certificate system by the Ministry of Education; in December 2020, the college was selected as the "Model School for the Construction of Digital Campus for Vocational Colleges" by the Ministry of Education; in 2021, the college was selected as a provincial-level high-level higher vocational school and high-level professional group construction project in Yunnan Province. Development results (I) Talent training The school has deepened the reform of education and teaching, implemented the tasks of the integration and quality improvement plan, deepened the integration of production and education and school-enterprise cooperation, comprehensively promoted the Chinese-style apprenticeship system, carried out the construction of industrial colleges and field engineer colleges, and continued to promote the national "1+X" certificate system pilot and the integration of courses and certificates. Implement classroom revolution, promote the deep integration of information technology and education and teaching, comprehensively promote hybrid teaching mode, vigorously advocate team teaching, actively carry out the "three teaching" reform, establish and improve the national, provincial and school three-level student competition mechanism and teacher teaching ability competition mechanism, use competition to promote learning, teaching and reform, and strive to achieve a double breakthrough in the national teaching achievement award and hosting the national vocational college skills competition. In the past five years, students have won more than 300 awards in various national and provincial skills competitions, innovation and entrepreneurship competitions and other events, including 2 national special awards, 4 first prizes (gold awards), and 10 second prizes (silver awards); 23 awards in various cultural and sports activities such as cheerleading, free fighting, and speeches at the provincial level and above; a group of advanced models of bravery, volunteer service, free blood donation, and dedication to society have emerged, and have been reported by China.com, Yunnan.com and other media. (II) Campus Culture The school has established a campus culture system with the promotion of socialist core values as the core, inherited the spirit of "three glories" and "four specialities", continuously condensed the school's educational characteristics and character, and enriched the school's spiritual connotation. The cultural walls, landscape stones, cultural corridors, Qingfeng Pavilion, Chenghuai Road and other cultural landscapes that carry the core culture of the campus have been built. The school advocates "Great American Land, Action with Me", and organizes campus cultural activities such as the spirit of craftsmanship into the campus, elegant art into the campus, professor and doctor forum, young scholars forum, teacher and student sports meeting and sports festival, community cultural festival, dormitory cultural festival, vocational education activity week, and 30-year teacher's day symposium to enhance the cultural identity, sense of gain, happiness and belonging of teachers and students. Efforts are made to create WeChat public accounts such as "Yunnan Vocational College of Land and Resources" and "Land Youth", WeChat video accounts, Douyin and other cultural display platforms to enhance the school's popularity and reputation. (III) Social Service The school actively plays its advantages in education and teaching, talent training, and faces the society to improve the level of social services. The "Yunnan Provincial Department of Education Health Geological Survey and Evaluation Engineering Research Center (cultivation)" applied by the school as a supporting unit has been approved for construction. Actively participate in the new round of mineral exploration action plan in Yunnan Province and win the bid for 1 geological exploration fund project. Establish and build a rural revitalization innovation service team; carry out education and teaching activities, consulting services and lectures related to rural revitalization. Construction of training base: China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) took the lead in applying for a national "dual-qualified" teacher training base. As a core member, our school will actively participate in the construction of the base; undertake technical service projects. (IV) International Cooperation Our school actively responds to the national "Belt and Road" initiative, fully implements the party's education policy, actively integrates into the service of Yunnan Province's "3815" strategy, focuses on the three-year action plan for high-quality education development in Yunnan Province, actively promotes the export of high-quality vocational education resources, and enhances the international influence of vocational education at Yunnan Vocational College of Land and Resources. "One branch" means setting up an overseas branch - "China-Pakistan International College of Land and Resources", and exploring the establishment of "Lu Ban Workshops" in South Asia and Southeast Asian countries; "one platform" means developing an international education cloud platform and an intelligent course generation system, digitally empowering international education, building a "double-high" professional systematic international curriculum on the platform, and exporting the school's advantageous vocational education standards; "one center" means setting up a center for teaching Chinese as a foreign language, carrying out "Chinese + vocational education" projects, introducing high-quality Chinese and foreign educational institutions, etc.; "two services" means serving Chinese-funded enterprises to go global and serving international capacity cooperation, with teaching following output and industry and education going hand in hand. We have signed a talent training cooperation agreement with CGN Energy International to train hundreds of new energy engineers for Laos.
