Zhangjiakou University is located in Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, the venue of the 2022 Winter Olympics and known as the "mountain city outside the Great Wall". The school adheres to the school motto of "self-reliance, hard work, truth-seeking and innovation". After more than 40 years of construction and development, it has become a local, applied general undergraduate college with education, medicine and management as the main disciplines, and literature, science, art and other disciplines supporting each other and developing in a coordinated manner. The school was upgraded to an undergraduate college in April 2013, and implemented a system of co-construction by the province and the city (Zhangjiakou City) with the city as the main body. In June 2017, it was approved as a bachelor's degree awarding institution; in January 2021, it passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment of the Ministry of Education. The school is the first batch of training bases for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, a national primary and secondary school teacher training base, and a training base for key primary and secondary school teachers in Hebei Province. The university currently has two campuses, Minghu and Hepingmen, covering an area of 874,900 square meters, 217 experimental training sites on campus, 259 internship training bases jointly built with enterprises and industry units, and a total value of 124 million yuan in teaching and scientific research equipment. The library has a paper collection of 1.457 million books and 3.55 million electronic books. It has a rare collection of the Wenjin Pavilion "Sikuquanshu" and special collections such as Olympic documents, Zhangjiakou history and culture, and teacher education. The school has 17 teaching units, 42 undergraduate majors, and 2 junior college majors. There are 13,287 full-time students, including 12,816 undergraduates. The school recruits students from 24 provinces (municipalities, autonomous regions) across the country, and the average employment rate of graduates in the past three years is 88.66%. The school currently has 810 faculty and staff, including 591 full-time teachers, 295 associate senior titles or above, and 455 teachers with master's and doctoral degrees. There are 1 young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions in Hebei Province, 5 famous teachers in Hebei Province, and 3 famous teachers of innovation and entrepreneurship in Hebei Province. The school adheres to the "local and application-oriented" school-running orientation and actively creates ice and snow school-running characteristics. In recent years, focusing on the major national strategic opportunities such as post-Olympic economic development and the construction of the "two districts of the capital", focusing on the leading industries and development strategies of Zhangjiakou City, 1 national science popularization base, 3 provincial science popularization bases, 8 municipal scientific research platforms and 17 school-level scientific research platforms have been established. Up to now, our school has established nearly 1,400 projects of various levels and types, including 2 national social science fund projects, 87 scientific research projects at or above the provincial and ministerial levels, 1 China University Industry-University-Research Innovation Fund Project, and 47 Ministry of Education Industry-University Cooperation and Collaborative Education Projects. Teachers have published 984 papers at home and abroad, including 150 papers in domestic core journals and three major indexes, and published 207 textbooks and books; obtained 98 utility model patents, 3 invention patents, and 6 design patents. Domestic experts and scholars and teachers of our school were invited to hold a total of 475 academic lectures. The school actively promotes education and teaching reforms. There are currently 4 provincial first-class majors and 4 provincial first-class major construction sites.
