Zhangzhou Vocational and Technical College is a full-time public general higher vocational college organized by the Zhangzhou Municipal People's Government. Its predecessor was Zhangzhou Vocational University founded in 1984. In April 2002, with the approval of the Fujian Provincial People's Government, the provincial and ministerial key technical secondary school Zhangzhou Agricultural Machinery School, founded in 1979, was merged into Zhangzhou Vocational University and officially renamed Zhangzhou Vocational and Technical College. The school currently has 14,000 full-time students, more than 800 faculty and staff, 230 senior professional titles, 25 doctors, and 470 "double-qualified" teachers; 7 provincial teaching teams, 13 provincial teaching masters, and 21 provincial professional leaders. The school has established 10 secondary colleges (including the School of Marxism and the School of General Education) and 46 majors, including 6 national key majors, 3 provincial characteristic professional groups, and 18 majors ranked first in the quality evaluation of professional construction in Fujian higher vocational colleges; it has won 12 national and provincial teaching achievement awards, and 107 education and teaching reform projects such as provincial boutique majors and provincial demonstration majors. There are 7 training bases supported by the central government and 6 provincial-level training bases, 1 national-level industry-university-research-application innovation platform and 3 provincial-level training bases; 2 provincial-level professional teaching resource bases; more than 410 productive training bases and off-campus internship bases. The total value of teaching instruments and equipment is 170 million yuan. In recent years, students have won more than 220 awards in national skill competitions and more than 500 provincial-level awards. In the 2021 National Vocational College Skills Competition, our school won 3 first prizes, 1 second prize, and 2 third prizes. The number of first prizes ranked fourth in the country, and the number of awards ranked 13th in the country. Since its establishment, it has provided the society with nearly 80,000 technical and skilled talents who are "able to go down, stay, use, and do well" to meet the needs of production, construction, management, and service front lines. The employment rate of graduates has remained above 95% for many years. Data shows that some graduates have already made their mark in their jobs and have become the focus of training for enterprises. The quality of talent training in schools has been fully recognized and praised by all sectors of society. In the 2022 national ranking of "College Satisfaction" for higher vocational colleges, our school ranked 16th and first in Fujian Province. Under the leadership of the Zhangzhou Municipal Government, the school focuses on the integration of industry and education and school-enterprise cooperation, and actively explores in-depth cooperation between schools and enterprises. Based on the deployment requirements of the municipal party committee and government for industrial development, it has established strategic cooperation with various counties (districts) in Zhangzhou, and provided talent and technical support around the needs of counties and districts. Zhangzhou River Chief System Research Institute, Emergency Management College, Rural Revitalization College, Craftsman Research Institute, Veterans Education College, Digital Community Education College, and Xi'an Jiaotong University National Technology Transfer Center Zhangzhou Branch have successively settled in our school. Taking advantage of the seven major professional groups such as food engineering and intelligent manufacturing and the national vocational skills appraisal station, the Zhangzhou Food Industry Research Institute was established, and the Zhangzhou Intelligent Manufacturing Vocational Education Group was established to promote the deep integration of schools and enterprises. The school has carried out industry-university-research cooperation with dozens of well-known Zhangzhou enterprises such as Sanbao Steel Group, and jointly carried out "dual system" and "modern apprenticeship system" talent training; it has co-established the "Huawei Information and Network (ICT) Technology College" with Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., and established the "Shenyue Technology College" in cooperation with Fujian Shenyue Casting Co., Ltd., and established the "Jingdong Industry College" with JD Group. At the same time, it actively explored mixed ownership reform, implemented "dual subject" school running, and cooperated with Fujian Longcheng Construction Group Co., Ltd. to establish the mixed ownership "Lingcheng Construction Industry College", and was successfully selected into the second batch of pilot projects for industrial colleges of higher vocational colleges in Fujian Province. The school for foreign exchanges has continuously broadened its channels for running schools, and has successively carried out substantive cooperation with relevant technical and vocational colleges and industry associations in Canada, Singapore, Germany and other countries and Taiwan in joint school running, teacher training, advanced education concepts, management concepts, courses and the introduction of professional qualification standards. Actively explore exchanges and cooperation with countries and universities along the "Belt and Road". In 2016, the Daimler Benz Star Education Project was successfully settled in our school, and it was the only higher vocational college in Fujian Province selected for the project; it successfully hosted the "China-ASEAN Modern Agricultural Technology Training Course" and conducted training for 20 trainees from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia; in 2018, the "Specialty Class" of the Ministry of Education's Sino-German Vocational Education Automotive Electromechanical Cooperation Project was successfully opened in our school; in 2021, the school was successfully selected for the first batch of Swiss GF Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Practice Base Project of the Ministry of Education, and it was the only higher vocational college selected in Fujian Province; it cooperated with the Malaysia International Cultural Exchange Center in overseas schooling, teacher-student exchanges, and teacher training; it adopted all-English teaching and carried out "fruit and vegetable processing" online training for food companies in Uganda and Thailand, and achieved good results.
