1. Basic Information (I) Long history. Zhaotong Health Vocational College is a medical higher vocational college established in 2016 on the basis of Zhaotong Health School (established in August 1957). It has been in operation for 66 years and has provided more than 80,000 medical and health talents to the society. (II) Initial scale. The school covers an area of 655.89 acres, with a building area of 291,700 square meters (51,500 square meters from 2016 to 2021, and 148,200 square meters in 2022). The number of students in the fall semester of 2023 has reached 9,300, with 2,500 students in the five-year cooperative education outside the school and 393 students in adult education. (III) Complete team. There are 351 establishments, 490 faculty and staff, and 243 full-time teachers, including 78 senior titles, 2 doctors of medicine, 164 "dual-qualified" teachers, and 114 master's students. The teaching team is basically complete from humanities to various majors. (IV) Huge potential. There are 318 faculty members on the payroll, with an average age of 36 years old, and 54% are born after 1990. (V) Complete majors. There are 19 college majors, including Chinese medicine, acupuncture and massage, Chinese medicine health care, Chinese medicine rehabilitation technology, medical cosmetology technology, oral medicine technology, nursing, midwifery, infant care services and management, rehabilitation therapy technology, medical laboratory technology, medical imaging technology, optometry technology, preventive medicine, public health management, pharmacy, Chinese medicine, drug quality and safety, and drug operation and management. There are three five-year majors in nursing, medical laboratory technology, and rehabilitation therapy technology. The nursing major has become a high-quality major in the province, and optometry technology, pharmacy, and medical cosmetology technology have been selected into the provincial vocational education modern apprenticeship talent training project, covering the key majors of the medical and health category of the Vocational Education Major Catalog (2021). II. Main achievements (I) The party building has achieved remarkable results. There are 194 party member teachers on the payroll, accounting for 60.8%, which is the school with the highest proportion of party members in the city's education and sports system. Three "first-class party building" demonstration party branches in the province's colleges and universities, one municipal demonstration party branch, and one municipal retired demonstration party branch have been established. The school's party style and clean government construction has been rated as an excellent unit in the city for four consecutive years, and has won more than 30 honors such as "National Defense Education Characteristic School", "Provincial Civilized Campus", "Provincial Safe Campus", "Yunnan Vocational Education Informatization Benchmark School", and "National School First Aid Education Pilot School" from the Ministry of Education. The work of group organizations such as the Communist Youth League and the Women's Federation has achieved remarkable results and won the "National Free Blood Donation Promotion Award" and "Yunnan Province March 8 Red Flag Collective". (II) Both enrollment and employment have been improved. Enrollment has increased from Yunnan to nine provinces including Guizhou, Sichuan, Guangxi, Gansu, Hebei, Xinjiang, Ningxia, and Qinghai. 4,477 students will be enrolled in 2022 (including five-year programs); 4,952 students will be enrolled in 2023 (including five-year programs). There are currently 12,000 students. It is expected that 3,300 students will be enrolled in 2024, 1,674 junior college students will graduate in 2022, and 1,382 graduates will graduate in 2023. The employment rate of graduates exceeds the provincial average. (III) Improve the quality of professional construction. Nursing has become a high-quality major in the province, and optometry technology, pharmacy, and medical cosmetology technology have been selected into the provincial vocational education modern apprenticeship talent training project. (IV) Teaching and scientific research have been steadily improved. Teachers have participated in the compilation of more than 130 textbooks, published more than 600 papers, presided over more than 100 projects, and have 10 invention patents. They have won more than 130 teaching and skills competitions across the country and the province. Among them, in 2022, we won the second prize of Yunnan Province Teaching Achievement Award, achieving a zero breakthrough in this award; especially in 2023, one ideological and political teacher of our school represented Yunnan Province in the national ideological and political teaching demonstration competition, and one teacher participated in the 2023 ideological and political competition of colleges and universities in Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Jiangxi and Yunnan and won the first prize; represented Yunnan Province in the National Vocational College Skills Competition, the "Inspection and Quarantine Technology" event of the higher vocational group, and won the second prize of the team; in September this year, we hosted the Yunnan Province Higher Vocational Group "Inspection and Quarantine Technology" Vocational College Skills Competition, and our school's two teams participated in the competition and won the first and second prizes in the first prize. In the past three years, the rate of students obtaining dual certificates has reached 96.42%, the passing rate of the nursing examination has reached more than 96.30%, and the rate of junior college to undergraduate has reached 22.94%. III. Development ideas and work measures (I) Development ideas. Focusing on the decision-making and deployment of the provincial party committee's "3815" strategy, the municipal party committee's "six major strategies" and the three articles of "industry, city and people", in accordance with the "23515" idea of two years to lay the foundation, three years to step up, five years of great development, and fifteen years of great leap, we will implement it in stages and advance it in steps, and strive to achieve high-quality development of the school. In two years to lay the foundation (2023-2024), we will focus on the construction indicator system of the "double high" plan, find gaps, sort out ideas, make up for shortcomings, strengthen weaknesses, further consolidate the foundation of running schools, and achieve the provincial "double high" construction goals in 2024. In three years to step up (2023-2025), we will implement the three-year action plan for high-quality development of the school and the construction of the standard-reaching project, comprehensively strengthen party building, ideological and political level, faculty team building, talent training quality, scientific research and service industry capabilities, open and cooperative education, industry-education integration school-enterprise cooperation, governance level and governance capabilities, and strive to run more than two undergraduate majors and more than three provincial high-level majors by 2025, and enter the ranks of advanced western countries at the same time as the whole province. During the five-year development (2023-2027), the school will achieve remarkable results in high-quality development, with more distinctive characteristics and advantages, continuous enhancement of social service capabilities, and comprehensive improvement of the modernization level of the governance system and governance capabilities. We will strive to be upgraded to an undergraduate vocational college by the middle of the 15th Five-Year Plan. During the 15-year leap (2021-2035), through the continuous efforts of the three five-year plans, by 2035, we will successfully pass the undergraduate vocational college qualification assessment and achieve the development goal of "based in Zhaotong, serving Yunnan, radiating to the surrounding areas, and building a regional high-level medical and health vocational undergraduate college".
