Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University is located in Hangzhou, at the western end of the Hangzhou West Science and Technology Innovation Corridor. It is a university jointly built by the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, a university jointly built by the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government and the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, a key university in Zhejiang Province, and a high-level university in Zhejiang Province. The school was founded in 1958 and was then called Tianmu Forestry College. It was renamed Zhejiang Forestry College in 1966 and Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University in 2010. After more than 60 years of construction, the school has developed into a multidisciplinary university with agriculture, forestry, biology, and environmental disciplines as its characteristics, covering nine disciplines, and has established a complete undergraduate, master, and doctoral talent training and degree authorization system. The school currently has three campuses in Donghu, Yijin, and Zhuji, covering an area of more than 3,300 acres, with a school building area of 954,000 square meters (including 62.8 in the main campus and 32.6 in Jiyang), and the total value of instruments and equipment exceeds 600 million yuan. The school has 20 colleges (departments), including 1 independent college-Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University Jiyang College. There is currently 1 Zhejiang Province Peak Discipline, 4 Zhejiang Province First-Class Disciplines (Class A), 5 Zhejiang Province First-Class Disciplines (Class B); 7 National Forestry and Grassland Administration Key Disciplines, and 3 Key Cultivation Disciplines. It has 5 first-level discipline postdoctoral research mobile stations in forestry, forestry engineering, crop science, agricultural resources and environment, and agricultural and forestry economic management; 6 doctoral degree authorization points; 18 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, and 15 professional degree master authorization categories.
