Zhejiang Economic Vocational and Technical College, formerly known as Zhejiang Material School, was founded in December 1978. In March 2000, Zhejiang Economic Vocational and Technical College was planned. In January 2002, with the approval of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, the higher vocational school was officially established by the Fortune 500 company Wuchan Zhongda Group (formerly Zhejiang Material Bureau). In 2010, it was rated as the first batch of national excellent backbone higher vocational colleges. In July 2017, with the approval of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, it was transferred to Zhejiang Mechanical and Electrical Group as a whole to form Zhejiang Vocational Education Group. In 2019, it was selected as a national high-level professional group construction unit. The school adheres to the school motto of "morality-based, practical, optimization-oriented, and excellence-seeking", focusing on the supply chain integrated service industry ecology, building a full-value and full-system education service model, and creating a first-class domestic and international high-level vocational and technical university with distinctive characteristics. The school consists of 9 secondary colleges, including the School of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, the School of Automotive Technology, the School of Digital Information Technology, the School of Business Administration, the School of Commerce and Circulation, the School of Accounting and Finance, the School of Culture and Art, the School of Dream Entrepreneurship, and the School of Marxism. It offers 34 majors, including modern logistics management, customs and foreign trade services, e-commerce, Internet of Things application technology, financial services and management, and co-establishes 2 undergraduate majors in international economics and trade and finance with Hangzhou Dianzi University and Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics. The school currently has more than 10,400 full-time students, including more than 500 undergraduates. The school is a UNESCO Vocational Education Contact and Training Center, a national "Double High" plan construction unit, a national high-quality junior college higher vocational college, the first batch of national excellent backbone higher vocational colleges, the first batch of national vocational colleges digital campus construction experimental schools, and a national professional and technical personnel continuing education base. It has 6 national backbone majors, 2 national productive training bases, 2 national teacher training bases, 1 national collaborative innovation center, 1 national skill master studio, 2 national vocational education teacher teaching innovation teams, and 1 national college party building work model branch. There are 11 members of the National Steering Committee, including 2 deputy directors. Won 2 first prizes and 3 second prizes for national teaching achievements. Won the special prize for outstanding achievements in campus culture construction of ordinary colleges and universities, the first prize for outstanding achievements in safe campus construction of colleges and universities of the Ministry of Education, and the third prize for outstanding achievements in the first safe campus construction of the Central Committee for Comprehensive Governance. The school adheres to the type positioning of vocational education, deepens the integration of production and education, school-enterprise cooperation, and the combination of work and study, and pioneered the theory and practice of Chinese characteristic industrial colleges. In 2007, the school originally proposed the theoretical framework of "industrial college", and established the first industrial college in the country-Logistics Industry College with Wuchan Zhongda Group; in 2012, it cooperated with Wuchan Zhongda Group, a Fortune 500 company, to hold the "Embedded Industrial College"-Zhejiang Wuchan Management College, providing systematic organizational learning services for more than 20,000 employees of the group; in 2019, the school and Wuchan Zhongda Group and Deloitte Huayong Accounting Firm jointly funded the mixed-ownership industrial college-Wuchan Zhongda International College. In the past 10 years, the school has completed 809 projects for enterprises and society, with a total training of 423,700 people-days. The school adheres to the immersion of traditional culture and leads the national vocational colleges to cultivate people with culture. In 1998, the school proactively proposed to carry out cultural quality education in vocational colleges, and actively advocated "a new model of humanistic education based on traditional culture, with poetry education as the feature, compatible with poetry, calligraphy, painting, literature, history and philosophy". Together with Peking University, it won the special prize for excellent campus cultural construction achievements of ordinary colleges and universities of the Ministry of Education (the only one in the country's higher vocational colleges). In 2005, the school originally constructed a modern and harmonious professional training system of "one body, two wings, three levels, four qualities, five virtues, six abilities, and seven transformations". This achievement won the first prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award. The school insists on building a school with a group and creating a high-level professional group of four-flow integrated supply chain integrated services. Construct a supply chain integrated service professional cluster with business flow, logistics flow, information flow and capital flow as the core, form a professional group layout of "one body, four flows and three bases", and vigorously promote a high-level development strategy from "plateau" to "peak". The logistics management professional group was selected into the construction plan of high-level professional groups with Chinese characteristics. It presided over or participated in the formulation of 6 national vocational skill standards. It has 16 national boutique courses and national boutique resource sharing courses and 39 national planning textbooks. It has established 8 industrial colleges with supply chain leading companies such as Wuchan Zhongda Group, Alibaba Cainiao Logistics, SF Express, and Best Logistics. The school insists on deepening international exchanges and cooperation, relying on the advantages of the UNESCO International Contact Center for Vocational and Technical Education and Training built in the school, to tell the story of Chinese vocational education well. The school actively participates in multilateral consultations on the vocational education policy framework on behalf of the Chinese vocational education community, and has presided over or participated in international vocational education research projects many times. It presided over the formulation of the "Cross-border E-commerce" professional teaching standards certified by the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce. Participated in the formulation of the "Luban Workshop Construction Regulations" of the Ministry of Education, co-built the Digital Economy Sino-foreign Cultural Exchange Base with the Sino-Foreign Cultural Exchange Center of the Ministry of Education, established the Malaysian Provincial Silk Road College, and continued to carry out the "Chinese + Skills" overseas education project. The school insists on both education and training. Relying on the national-level continuing education base for professional and technical personnel and the national-level "dual-qualified" teacher training base platform, it provides various training, appraisal, academic education, consultation, test site organization and other services for enterprises, institutions, schools, social groups, etc. The scale of higher education continuing education is stable at about 15,000 people, and an average of more than 250,000 training services are provided each year. It has been rated as a national employee education and training demonstration site. Over the years, the school's enrollment scores have ranked among the top higher vocational colleges in the province, and the graduation destination implementation rate has remained above 98%. It has successively won the title of Advanced Collective for Employment Work of National Ordinary Colleges and "Top 50 Employment Quality of Higher Vocational Colleges in China". It is the first batch of national vocational colleges innovation and entrepreneurship education base construction units, the vice-chairman unit of the National Higher Vocational College Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Cooperation Association, and the first batch of school-enterprise collaborative employment entrepreneurship innovation demonstration practice base construction units of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. In 2022, the school successfully signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the People's Government of Shengzhou City to jointly build the Shengzhou campus, which took a key step to break the bottleneck of the school's space development. Based on the "three new" journey of striving for new double highs, building a new campus, and upgrading to a new level, the school will continue to be guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully implement the fundamental task of cultivating morality and educating people, and strive to create a high-level vocational and technical university with first-class domestic characteristics and distinctive international characteristics, and contribute to Zhejiang's "two firsts" and education power strategy.
