Zhejiang Gongshang University is located in the beautiful Hangzhou. Its predecessor was the Hangzhou Secondary Commercial School founded in 1911. At the beginning of its establishment, it was a pioneer of commercial education in our province and one of the earliest specialized commercial schools in my country. In 1980, Hangzhou Business School was established with the approval of the State Council, and in 2004, it was renamed Zhejiang Gongshang University with the approval of the Ministry of Education. For more than a hundred years, the school has been adhering to the tradition of running business schools. Especially since 1998, when it was changed from a college directly under the Ministry of Commerce to a "central and local co-construction, mainly local management", the school has insisted on taking the road of characteristic school-running, focusing on economics and management disciplines, and coordinating the development of multiple disciplines such as law and engineering, and the level of school-running has been continuously improved. In 2015, the school was identified as a university jointly built by the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Education. In 2017, the school was identified as a key university in Zhejiang Province, and the disciplines of statistics and business administration were selected into the list of provincial advantageous and characteristic disciplines. The school consists of three campuses: Xiasha, Jiaogong Road and Tonglu, covering an area of 182.The school currently has more than 2,800 faculty and staff, including more than 2,189 full-time teachers, more than 130 doctoral supervisors, more than 406 senior professional titles, more than 714 associate senior professional titles, and more than 1,255 doctors. The school has 3 dual-appointed chief scientists, 3 honorary professors, 4 distinguished professors of the Major Talent Program of the Ministry of Education, 1 leading talent in scientific and technological innovation of the National Special Support Program for High-level Talents, 5 leading talents in humanities and social sciences of the National Special Support Program for High-level Talents, 1 teaching master of the National Special Support Program for High-level Talents, 4 selected candidates of the National Overseas Talent Introduction Program, 2 winners of the National Outstanding Youth Fund, 3 special experts of Zhejiang Province, 2 members of the Discipline Evaluation Group of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, 6 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions to the country, 8 national candidates of the Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talents Project, 4 national cultural celebrities and "four batches" of talents in the publicity and culture system, 3 selected candidates of the Youth Project of the Major Talent Program of the Ministry of Education, 2 young top talents of the National Special Support Program for High-level Talents, 1 winner of the National Outstanding Youth Fund, 21 experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, 11 selected candidates of the "New Century Excellent Talent Support Program" of the Ministry of Education, and 2 selected candidates of the "Propaganda, Ideology and Culture Young Talents" of the Central Propaganda Department. There are more than 29,000 full-time undergraduate students (including independent colleges), more than 8,000 postgraduate students, more than 590 international students, and more than 20,000 students of various higher education and continuing education. The school has a complete range of disciplines, including 58 general undergraduate majors, 2 Sino-foreign cooperative majors, and 11 second bachelor's degree majors, covering 10 major categories such as economics, management, law, literature, science, engineering, history, philosophy, art, and interdisciplinary disciplines. It has the right to confer doctoral degrees, master's degrees, and bachelor's degrees, the right to confer master's professional degrees, and the right to recruit foreign students and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. The school has 7 first-level doctoral programs, 16 first-level master's programs, 20 professional degree authorization points, and 7 postdoctoral mobile stations. In the results of the fourth round of national discipline evaluation announced by the Degree and Graduate Education Development Center of the Ministry of Education, our school's statistics entered the A-level discipline, and 6 disciplines including business administration, applied economics, foreign languages and literature, food science and engineering, law, and computer science and technology entered the B-level. The evaluation results ranked among the top key universities in Zhejiang Province. Agricultural science, engineering science, computer science, environment/ecology, chemistry, and general social sciences are among the top 1% of the ESI global rankings, among which agricultural science ranks in the top 3‰ and engineering science ranks in the top 5‰. The school adheres to the talent training concept of "international vision, humanistic feelings, and professional literacy", fully implements the fundamental task of cultivating morality and cultivating people, forges ahead, and passes on the torch. In the long history of running schools, the school has adhered to the mission of cultivating morality and cultivating people, and has cultivated a large number of outstanding alumni such as Zhang Naiqi, a pioneer of patriotic democracy and the first Minister of Food of New China, and Luo Gengmo, a famous economist and deputy director of the State Planning Commission, and has delivered tens of thousands of various specialized talents for the national economic and social development, making outstanding contributions. The school has 1 national-level teaching team, 3 national-level bilingual teaching demonstration courses, 3 national-level experimental teaching demonstration centers, 21 national-level first-class undergraduate courses, 4 national-level quality courses, 3 national-level quality video open courses, 3 national-level quality resource sharing courses, 237 provincial-level first-class undergraduate courses, and 1 MOOC was rated as the first "most beautiful MOOC" in the country. The school is now a member unit of the National University General Education Alliance, the secretariat unit of the Zhejiang Provincial College General Education Branch, and the initiator of the Zhejiang Provincial College General Education Community. The university is an internationalized university in Zhejiang Province. Since 2004, the university has cooperated with the University of Quebec in Canada to train Master of Project Management (MPM). In 2008, the Alliance Française of Zhejiang Gongshang University was established, which is the only partner of the Alliance Française in Zhejiang Province. In 2012, the university cooperated with the University of Applied Sciences West Flanders in Belgium to build a Confucius Institute, which has become the largest Chinese training base in Belgium. In 2019, the university initiated and established the International University Alliance of Food Science and Nutrition (IUCoFSN). In 2020, the School of Artificial Intelligence, established in cooperation with the University of Sussex in the UK, is the first Sino-foreign cooperative school in this field in China. The school's international students come from more than 100 countries and regions around the world. It has carried out multi-form and cross-level cooperation and exchanges with more than 200 colleges and scientific research institutions in more than 50 countries, including the United States, Britain, Germany, France, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea.In 2004, Comrade Xi Jinping, then Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee, pointed out during his inspection of our school: "Zhejiang Gongshang University plays a vital role in the talent training work in Zhejiang Province.
