Zhejiang International Maritime Vocational and Technical College is located in the scenic "Buddhist Kingdom of the Sea and Sky, Fishing Port City" - Zhejiang Zhoushan Archipelago New Area. It is a public higher vocational and technical college with distinctive marine characteristics, with shipping majors as the leader, marine equipment manufacturing, port trade logistics, petrochemical and other majors (groups) as the main body, marine electronic information technology, modern marine services and other majors (groups) coordinated development. The school originated from Zhoushan Fisheries School, Donghai College, Dinghai Vocational Middle School and Zhoushan Navigation School in the 1980s. It was planned in February 2004 and officially established in February 2006 with the approval of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government and the filing of the Ministry of Education. In 2009, it passed the evaluation of talent training work of higher vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education. The school covers an area of about 600 acres and a construction area of about 160,000 square meters. There are two campuses in Xincheng Headquarters and Daishan, with more than 7,000 full-time higher vocational students and more than 2,800 adult education students.
