Zhejiang Pharmaceutical Vocational University is the first undergraduate-level vocational school in the country for pharmaceutical sciences, established in 2021 with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the consent of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, and organized by the Zhejiang Provincial Drug Administration. It is the only undergraduate college in the national drug supervision system and the first public vocational undergraduate college in the province. The school can be traced back to the Zhejiang Medical School established in 1984, which officially enrolled students in 1986. In 1999, it was approved by the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government to prepare for the establishment of Zhejiang Medical Vocational and Technical College, and in 2002, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to establish Zhejiang Medical College. In 2021, the establishment of Zhejiang Pharmaceutical Vocational University opened a new chapter in the development of the school. The school is located in Ningbo, the hometown of Tu Youyou, the first Nobel Prize winner in natural sciences in my country. It currently has three campuses in Fenghua, Yinzhou, and Xinchang (Industrial College), covering an area of 1,410 acres and a total construction area of 361,200 square meters. It has 14 secondary colleges including the School of Pharmacy, the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the School of Pharmacy Business, and the School of Nursing. There are more than 12,000 full-time students and 707 faculty members, including 573 full-time teachers, 91% of whom have postgraduate degrees, 38% of whom have senior professional titles, and 307 part-time teachers from industry enterprises. 70 teachers have obtained provincial and municipal pharmaceutical GMP, GSP, and medical device specification inspector qualifications, and 42 have been selected for the Zhejiang Province Vocational Inspection "Double Hundred Pioneers" project. There are outstanding teachers such as experts with special government allowances from the State Council, Zhejiang Province's "151 Talents", and Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Awards. It has a team of famous teachers in ideological and political education of the Ministry of Education, a provincial vocational education teacher innovation team, the first batch of provincial secondary and higher vocational integrated teaching innovation teams, and the first batch of provincial vocational college skill master studios. The school firmly positions itself as a vocational undergraduate education type, adheres to the characteristics of the pharmaceutical industry, adheres to the path of integrating production and education, and upholds the school motto of "virtue, simplicity, and ambition". It condenses the "three colors" of professional development characteristics of "vocational education, pharmaceutical background, and regulatory characteristics", and builds a "three colors, three medicines, and three abilities" vocational undergraduate talent training model of "thick pharmaceutical morality, clear pharmaceutical regulations, strong pharmaceutical skills, understanding smart manufacturing, connecting with the international community, and being able to innovate". Focusing on the big health industry, it creates an applied discipline layout with pharmacy and Chinese medicine as core disciplines, and coordinated development of food science and engineering, bioengineering, chemical engineering and technology, biomedical engineering, and nursing. It builds six major professional groups of pharmacy, Chinese medicine, health care, medical equipment, food, and cosmetics, and offers 20 vocational undergraduate majors such as pharmacy and nursing, 14 junior college majors, and 17 junior college-to-undergraduate majors. The school was approved as a bachelor's degree authorization unit, and 16 vocational undergraduate majors passed the bachelor's degree authorization professional review. 27 national-level majors, courses, and textbooks have been established. In the past three years, students have won more than 70 awards in various national and provincial competitions. The school took the lead in applying for the addition of 4 vocational undergraduate majors, which were included in the catalog of vocational undergraduate majors by the Ministry of Education. It presided over the formulation of 8 national and provincial teaching standards, and provided the "Zhejiang Medicine Plan" for the construction of national and provincial professional standard systems. The school's graduate employment rate has exceeded 97% over the years, and the employer satisfaction rate has reached 90%. The school focuses on the "one body, two wings and five key points" work tasks of vocational education, gives full play to the characteristics of the industry, and creates a "1+N" industry-education integration ecosystem. It signed a contract with the People's Government of Xinchang County to jointly build the "Xinchang Modern Intelligent Pharmaceutical Industry College", and the "Government-School-Enterprise Park" to create a municipal industry-education consortium; jointly built the "Zhejiang Province High-end Preparations and Advanced Drug Innovation Laboratory" with the Fenghua District Government and the School of Pharmacy of Zhejiang University; relying on the "Collaborative Innovation Center for Quality Improvement of Special APIs and Preparations", the first batch of provincial application technology collaborative innovation centers, to create an open regional industry-education integration practice center; led the Zhejiang Pharmaceutical Industry Association, industry leading enterprises, pharmaceutical colleges and other 56 enterprises and institutions to establish the first pharmaceutical vocational education alliance in Zhejiang Province, to help the transformation and upgrading of the pharmaceutical industry to high-quality development. The school plays the role of a "think tank" of industry-specific colleges and universities, and has established the "Zhejiang Provincial Drug Regulatory Science and Industrial Development Research Center" to carry out in-depth research on pharmaceutical industry policies, grassroots drug and medical device regulatory science, professional construction of drug and medical device regulatory teams, and pharmaceutical industry talent support. Cooperate with the Advanced Training Institute of the State Drug Administration to jointly build the "National Drug Administration Advanced Training Yangtze River Delta Teaching Base", based in the Yangtze River Delta, radiating across the country, and creating an industry talent training brand. Actively promote social co-governance of food and drug safety, undertake and successfully complete the third-party assessment and evaluation of 101 food safety counties (cities) in Zhejiang Province for 7 consecutive years, undertake seven rounds of third-party evaluation of Zhejiang Province's cosmetics "Hundreds of Millions of Beautiful Demonstration Creation Projects", and serve the regional economic and social development at a high level. Standing at a new starting point, embark on a new journey. The school always bears in mind the ardent expectations of Comrade Xi Jinping, then Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee, in his congratulatory letter to the school on its 20th anniversary, "seize opportunities, accelerate development, run at a high level, and run with characteristics", and strives to build a first-class vocational university with distinctive pharmaceutical characteristics, and provide strong intellectual support and talent support for the transformation and upgrading of the pharmaceutical industry and the high-quality development, and for the implementation of the "Healthy China" and "Healthy Zhejiang" strategies.
