Zhejiang Police Vocational College is a judicial police college affiliated to the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Justice. It mainly trains prison drug rehabilitation police, people's court and procuratorate judicial police, grassroots judicial administration workers, and high-quality technical and skilled personnel in the fields of legal services, security prevention, and emergency management. It has Zhejiang Judicial Administration Training Center, Zhejiang Judicial Administration Research Institute, and Hangzhou Zanglan Education Technology Co., Ltd. The college was formerly the provincial labor reform cadre training class founded in August 1982. In 1984, the Zhejiang Provincial Labor Reform School was formally established with the approval of the Zhejiang Provincial Government, and was later renamed Zhejiang Judicial Police School and Zhejiang Provincial Third People's Police School. In 2002, it was upgraded and renamed Zhejiang Police College with the approval of the Zhejiang Provincial Government; in 2008, it was selected as a national demonstrative higher vocational college and became the first batch of national pilot colleges for the reform of the recruitment and training system of political and legal cadres; in 2010, it was awarded the first-class collective merit by the Ministry of Justice; in 2011, it became a college jointly built by the Ministry of Justice and the Zhejiang Provincial Government; in 2017, it was selected into the list of high-quality schools in Zhejiang Province; in 2019, it was selected as a national "Double High Plan" construction school and became the first batch of exchange and cooperation bases of the "China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization Legal Services Committee"; in 2021, it became the designated organizer of the Ministry of Education's vocational education course ideological and political collective preparation of public security and justice, and was selected as the first batch of ideological and political demonstration school construction units in Zhejiang Province. Basic conditions: covers an area of 524 mu (divided into two campuses, Xiasha and Qiaosi), with a building area of 160,000 square meters, a total fixed asset value of 354.91 million yuan, a teaching and research equipment asset value of 73.75 million yuan, and 510,000 paper books. There are 2 practical teaching bases supported by the central government and 4 provincial demonstrative practical teaching bases. Faculty: There are 383 faculty members, including 103 senior professional titles (32 senior professional titles), 27 with doctoral degrees; there is 1 provincial Huang Yanpei outstanding vocational education teacher, 1 provincial teaching master, 3 provincial excellent teachers, and 24 provincial professional leaders of higher vocational colleges; the teaching team won the first prize in the national vocational college teaching ability competition. In the past five years, it has undertaken 359 research projects of various types and 73 industry service research projects. Teachers have published 469 academic papers and 78 academic works. Professional courses: "Police" and "non-police" majors develop together, with 5 police majors such as criminal execution, administrative execution, judicial information security, judicial policing, criminal psychological measurement and correction technology, 9 non-police majors such as community correction, legal affairs, security prevention technology, building fire protection technology, civil aviation air security protection, and cryptographic technology application, and 1 law (junior college to undergraduate) major, including 5 Zhejiang Province's "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" advantage majors and 5 characteristic majors; there are 5 national-level quality courses, 4 national-level resource sharing courses, 1 national-level professional teaching resource library, 33 provincial and ministerial-level quality courses, 3 provincial-level online quality courses, and 6 provincial and ministerial-level teaching achievement awards. There are more than 4,200 full-time students. Since its establishment, the school has trained and sent more than 25,000 graduates to the political and legal systems and other related industries in Zhejiang Province and some provinces, cities and districts. They have become the backbone of prison and drug rehabilitation work and an important training base for the people's police of the judicial administrative organs of Zhejiang Province.
