Zhejiang Mechanical and Electrical Vocational and Technical College is a high-level school construction unit of the national "Double High Plan" A-level (top ten in the country). The school adheres to the school motto of "seeking truth, seeking precision, and seeking innovation", establishes the school-running philosophy of "openness, cooperation, and service", and always takes serving Zhejiang's manufacturing and manufacturing services as its mission, and is committed to cultivating skilled technical personnel in the manufacturing and manufacturing services industries, and is committed to improving the ability to serve regional economic and social development. From the establishment of Zhejiang Hangzhou Workers' Technical School in 1952, the establishment of Zhejiang Mechanical Industry School in 1975, and the formal establishment of Zhejiang Mechanical and Electrical Vocational and Technical College in 2002 with the approval of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government and the filing of the Ministry of Education, it has a history of more than 70 years. After several generations of hard work and unremitting struggle by electromechanical people, the school has now become a national model higher vocational college, a national industry-education integration development project planning project college, a national advanced unit of vocational education, a key construction school of higher vocational education in Zhejiang Province, and the president unit of the Higher Vocational Branch of the China Vocational and Technical Education Society. The school has been rated as the first in the province in the performance assessment and supervision evaluation of teaching work in higher vocational colleges in Zhejiang Province. The school is located in Hangzhou, a famous historical and cultural city in China. It has two campuses in Hangzhou Binjiang and Jiaxing Haining, with a total construction area of 336,800 square meters. It has 11 secondary colleges (departments), 9,724 full-time students, and 1.4687 million paper and electronic books in the library. There are 28 majors, including mechanical manufacturing and automation, mechatronics technology, electrical automation technology, and Internet of Things application technology. Each professional group consists of 3-5 majors, including 2 high-level professional groups with Chinese characteristics that are key to the construction of the Ministry of Education, 7 key majors of the Ministry of Education, 12 provincial advantage and characteristic majors, and 4 provincial famous majors. The level of professional construction ranks among the top in the country. The school adheres to the strategy of strengthening the school with talents. It currently has more than 750 faculty members and 604 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, there are 528 teachers with master's degrees or above, 57 senior professional titles, 154 associate senior professional titles, and the proportion of dual-qualified teachers is more than 90%. There are 2 national Huang Danian-style teacher teams in colleges and universities, 2 national vocational education teacher teaching innovation teams, 1 national curriculum ideological and political teacher team, 1 national teaching team, and 1 advanced collective in the national education system; 1 national "Ten Thousand People Plan" teaching master, 1 national teaching master, 1 national outstanding teacher, 1 teacher enjoying the special government allowance of the State Council, 1 national advanced individual in vocational education, 5 national curriculum ideological and political teaching masters, 5 national technical experts, 3 provincial "Ten Thousand People Plan" teaching masters, 2 second-level and 17 third-level 151 teachers in Zhejiang Province, and various landmark achievements rank among the top higher vocational colleges in the country. The school deepens teaching reform, creates a highland for talent training, and takes "solid professional knowledge, outstanding technical ability, and excellent comprehensive quality" as the basic characteristics of talent training. Since 2015, the school has jointly run four-year majors such as automation, material forming and control engineering with Zhejiang University of Science and Technology. Since 2020, the school has jointly carried out two-year undergraduate (junior-to-undergraduate) talent training in four majors such as mechanical design and manufacturing and automation, and Internet of Things Engineering with Zhejiang University of Science and Technology and Zhejiang Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower; and signed a cooperative training agreement with Zhejiang University of Technology to jointly build a postgraduate training base. The school has won 2 first prizes and 8 second prizes in the National Teaching Achievement Award, 2 special prizes and 12 first prizes in the Zhejiang Provincial Teaching Achievement Award; it has established 6 national online boutique courses, 7 national boutique resource sharing courses, and 13 provincial online boutique courses. In recent years, students have won more than 680 awards at the national and provincial levels in various skill competitions. The acquisition rate of skill level certificates and professional qualification certificates for graduates is 100%, and the average first employment rate of graduates is more than 98%. The per capita teaching and scientific research equipment is worth 49,000 yuan, which ranks among the top vocational colleges in the country. The school has comprehensively built a highland of scientific research and technological innovation. It is one of the top ten "National Advanced Units for Scientific Research in Higher Vocational Colleges" and "National Demonstration and National Key Vocational Colleges in Scientific Research Competitiveness Ranking". It has established the "Collaborative Innovation Center for Intelligent Transformation and Application Technology of Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Workshops" of the Ministry of Education and the "National Rail Transit Industry R&D Center" of the Ministry of Transport.
