Zhengzhou Normal University is located in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province, on the bank of the Yellow River and at the foot of Mount Songshan. It is a full-time general undergraduate college established in March 2010 on the basis of Zhengzhou Normal College with the approval of the Ministry of Education. Its predecessor was the Henan Provincial Zhengzhou Normal School established in 1949, and it has a history of more than 70 years. The college now covers an area of 1,001 acres, with a building area of more than 587,800 square meters, 241 experimental training rooms of various types, and a total value of 283 million yuan in teaching and scientific research equipment; there are 6 affiliated middle and primary schools, 241 off-campus internship and training bases; the library has more than 1.89 million paper books, more than 2.607 million electronic books, and 57 Chinese and foreign databases; it has a cloud data center, a visual network operation and maintenance monitoring center, and a 10G core switching fiber backbone campus network. It is currently the National Education Ministry's "National Training Program" demonstration project and the undertaker of the Central and Western Project, Henan Province's new curriculum reform trainer and primary school provincial backbone teacher training base, Henan Province's primary and secondary school principal training base, Xinjiang aid project training base, Intel's future education project Henan general executive agency, and has trained more than 100,000 teachers. The college takes the promotion of local economic and social development as its mission and implements scientific and technological innovation projects. It has established eight school-level scientific research institutions, including the Zhengzhou National Central City Construction Research Institute (Tianzhong Think Tank), Henan Province E-Commerce Development Planning Institute, Psychology (Behavioral and Cognitive Science) International Joint Laboratory, Molecular Biology Laboratory, Bioengineering Research Center, Software Science Research Center, Education and Psychological Science Research Center, and Space Information Engineering Research Center. It has established the Zhengzhou Integrity Culture Research Base, the Zhengzhou Social Science Popularization Education Research Base, and several professors and experts' studios, and hosts newspapers such as "Zhengzhou Normal Education" and "Zhengzhou Normal University News". It has undertaken more than 300 national and provincial research projects and completed more than 10 scientific and technological achievements. The college actively carries out foreign exchanges and cooperation and continuously improves its internationalization level. It has established cooperative relations with 20 institutions in 9 countries including the United States, Britain, Canada, Russia and India, and co-built the International Joint Laboratory of Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences with three institutions including the University of California, Davis, Germany's Hildesheim University and South Korea's Hanbit Mental Rehabilitation Hospital. It has been recognized as an international scientific and technological cooperation base in Zhengzhou City, and has established Chinese language and cultural exchange centers in three universities including the Royal College of Canada, and has undertaken the educational exchange project between Zhengzhou City and Joinville City, Brazil. Every year, it selects teachers to study abroad and organizes multiple batches of inspection teams to exchange and visit abroad. Over the past 70 years since its establishment, the college has adhered to the fine tradition of teacher education, firmly established the idea of serving Henan's basic education and local economic and social development, and insisted on building a school based on quality, strengthening the school through talents, developing the school through scientific research, and establishing a distinctive school. It has been committed to cultivating outstanding teachers and other professional talents with high comprehensive quality, solid theoretical foundation, strong professional skills, innovative spirit and practical ability, and has made outstanding contributions to the rise of the Central Plains, the revitalization of Henan, the enrichment of the people and the province, especially the development of Henan's education.
