Zhumadian Preschool Teachers College is located in Zhumadian City, Henan Province. It is a public full-time general college. The school was founded in 1906 as the "Ruyang Normal School" and has a century-long history of running schools. It has gone through the "Runing Prefecture Primary Normal School", "Henan Province Third Normal School", "Ru'nan County Simple Rural Normal School", "Short-term Teacher Training Course", "Ru'nan Simple Normal School", "Ru'nan Primary Normal School", "Henan Province Runan Normal School" and other school-running stages. In 2002, it was renamed "Henan Province Runan Preschool Teachers School". In March 2017, it was upgraded to Zhumadian Preschool Teachers College. It is one of the four preschool teachers colleges in Henan Province and the only preschool teachers college in southern Henan. The school fully implements the Party's education policy, adheres to the socialist direction of running schools, adheres to normal education, and deeply cultivates preschool education, gradually forming a professional system with preschool education as the leader, art education as the feature, normal majors as the support, and social service majors as the supplement. It is a preschool teacher training center in southern Henan, an in-service preschool teacher training center, and a preschool education scientific research center. The school has a number of scientific research and practice platforms, including the Preschool Education Research Center, Tianzhong Folk Culture Research Center, Zhumadian Work Station of the Family Education and Population Health Promotion Professional Committee of the Henan Provincial Population Society, Tianzhong Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Center, and Infant and Child Care Center. Since its establishment, the school has provided nearly 80,000 qualified basic education and preschool education teachers to the society, and trained more than 20,000 in-service preschool teachers at all levels and types. Many graduates have become principals, garden directors, experts, professors and teaching backbones, playing a leading role in promoting the development of regional education. The school currently has more than 9,000 full-time students, and offers 13 professional categories including early education, preschool education, primary education, music education, primary school English education, infant care services and management, music performance, social sports, e-commerce, computer application technology, artificial intelligence technology application, arts and crafts design, and five-year preschool education. The school has excellent school conditions and complete infrastructure. Each classroom is equipped with multimedia teaching equipment. It has VR training rooms, recording classrooms, smart classrooms, piano classrooms, independent piano rooms, calligraphy, art, straw painting studios, infant sensory training rooms, infant smart classrooms, e-commerce live broadcast training rooms, video editing training rooms, industrial robot comprehensive application theory and practice integrated training rooms, industrial automation comprehensive application theory and practice integrated training rooms, fitness and physical measurement centers, professor studios, etc., 121 off-campus internship and training bases, and 1 affiliated municipal demonstration kindergarten. The school currently has two campuses in Zhumadian and Runan, covering an area of 360 acres, with a total building area of more than 180,000 square meters, a library with a collection of 950,200 books, a gigabit backbone and full campus wireless network, and teaching equipment with a total value of about 40 million yuan. The student dormitories are equipped with air conditioners. At present, the construction project of the Zhumadian East Campus has been approved by the municipal government, covering an area of 295 acres, and related construction work is progressing steadily. The school currently has 464 faculty and staff, including 114 associate senior titles or above, and 136 teachers with doctoral and master's degrees. In recent years, teachers and students have won many awards in various competitions such as the Provincial Vocational College Teaching Ability Competition, Teaching Competition, Civilized Style Competition, and Normal Graduate Teaching Skills Competition. There are 14 outstanding teachers, special teachers, famous teachers, professional leaders, etc. at or above the provincial level, 1 "Moving Central Plains" annual education figure, and 2 "Most Beautiful Teachers" in Zhumadian City. The school took the lead in establishing the "Zhumadian City Early Childhood Education Development Collaborative Group" and worked with the city's demonstration kindergartens to build an "'school-garden' integrated education" system, achieving the goal of matching professional needs with kindergartens, and matching talent training goals with job needs, and promoting the continuous improvement of talent training quality. The school was approved for enrollment qualifications for the preschool education major at the adult education college level in 2023. It is also a municipal training base for the qualifications of kindergarten principals in Henan Province, and a training base for the "National Training Program" and "Provincial Training Program" projects for principals of primary and secondary schools, kindergarten principals, preschool education, and elementary music basic education teachers in Henan Province. The school undertakes more than 10,000 people of all levels and types of training each year, which has effectively promoted the development of preschool education in the local area and even in southern Henan. In recent years, the school has signed education exchange and cooperative school-running agreements with Gachon University in South Korea, Sangji University in South Korea, and the University of Selangor in Malaysia to promote joint school-running and short-term exchange and learning between teachers and students.
