Leibniz University Hannover, full name Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität Hannover, is a famous technical university located in Hannover, the capital of Lower Saxony, Germany. It is also one of the oldest technical universities in Germany.

On October 1, 1978, according to the Lower Saxony University Act, the "Technical University" was renamed the "University".
