Introduction

History

Founding background: On November 5, 1969, the Bayreuth City Council requested the establishment of a university in the city because the city was located near the border with the Democratic Republic of Germany and Czechoslovakia and faced economic stagnation and population outflow. Preparation and construction: On March 19, 1970, the University Association was established.
