Introduction and Overview

Asyut University is a large-scale comprehensive public university in Asyut, Egypt. It is an important institution of higher education in Upper Egypt. It has an important influence locally and throughout Egypt, offering more than 200 undergraduate and graduate courses.

History and Establishment

Founded in October 1957, it is the first university in Upper Egypt. In 1973, the Aswan Branch of Asyut University was established, and then in 1995, the branch was changed to be affiliated with the newly established South Valley University.
