Introduction: Haramaya University is a public research university in Haramaya, Oromia Region, Ethiopia, located about 510 km east of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and plays an important role in higher education and scientific research in Ethiopia.

Overview: In the 2017-2018 academic year, there were 30,355 students and a total of 7,850 faculty and staff, including 5,290 administrative staff. The school has a wide range of disciplines, covering agriculture, law, business and other fields.

History: In 1954, it was established as the "Haramaya University College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences" and is part of Addis Ababa University.
