Introduction: Arba Minch University is a national university located in Arba Minch, Southern State, Ethiopia, about 435 kilometers from Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.

History: Its predecessor can be traced back to the Arba Minch Institute of Water Technology, which was established in September 1986. On September 20, 2004, according to the government announcement, Arba Minchi University was officially established. It was originally composed of the Institute of Water Technology, the School of Engineering, the School of Science, the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, the School of Business and Economics, the School of Electrical Engineering, the School of Civil Engineering and the Graduate School.
