Introduction
The University of Pécs is a comprehensive higher education institution with a long history and large scale in Hungary. It is also the first national university in Hungary and the seventh oldest university in Europe. In the course of its development as a modern university, Elizabeth University was established in 1912. After Bratislava became part of Czechoslovakia in 1921, the university moved to Pécs.
