Founded: 1735.
Location: Located in Sopron, Hungary, the main campus is located in the famous tourist city of Fürth Lake District (World Cultural Heritage) and the entrance of the Alps, close to Austria.

History
The history of the University of West Hungary can be traced back several centuries. Its predecessor was the University of Forestry and Technology founded in 1735 in Selmebanya (now part of Slovakia), which trained a large number of professionals in mining, forestry and metallurgy. After the First World War, the institution moved to Sopron in 1919. On January 1, 2000, 7 colleges merged and changed their name to the University of West Hungary. 2017 In 2000, the university was reorganized, merging the faculties outside Sopron with other universities and renamed the University of Sopron again.

Faculty: The faculty of the University of West Hungary ranks first in Hungary, with two Nobel Prize winners serving as honorary professors.

Key laboratories and disciplines
Key disciplines: Business management, tourism management, education literature, agriculture and forestry, natural land and other majors are among the best in Europe. Among them, the forest engineering major of the School of Forestry Engineering is one of the unique majors in Hungary.

Expenses

Campus
The main campus is located in Sopron, a beautiful and quiet city. It is a famous tourist city and the center of the grape-producing area. It is famous for its wine production. There are Gothic and Renaissance churches, towers and other architectural monuments, as well as the Institute of Technology, the Institute of Forestry and the museum named after the famous musician Franz Liszt.
