Introduction

History and Establishment

Traditionally, clergy of the Church of Ireland received their ordination training by attending the seminary of Trinity College Dublin. After the passage of the University of Dublin Act in 1873, Trinity College officially became a non-denominational university, but at that time the professors of theology still had to be Anglicans.
