Introduction

Technological University Dublin, referred to as TU Dublin, is the first technical university in Ireland. It was formed by the merger of Dublin Institute of Technology, Blanchardstown Institute of Technology and Tara Institute of Technology on January 1, 2019, and its history can be traced back to 1887.

On January 1, 2019, the three schools officially merged to form the Dublin Institute of Technology in accordance with the 2018 Technical Universities Act.
