Introduction and Overview
Gharyan University is a public university located in Gharyan, western Libya. It is one of the important higher education institutions in Libya and has trained a large number of professionals for the local and surrounding areas.
History and Establishment
The University's School of Accountancy was established in 1985 in accordance with Resolution No. 925 of the General People's Committee of Libya. It was officially established in 1991. It was originally named "al-jabal al-gharbi university" and was renamed Gharyan University in 2017 in accordance with Decision No. 19 of the Ministry of Education of Libya.

Faculty: It has 887 faculty members, including teaching staff and administrative staff, who provide teaching and guidance to students.
Student size: There are 9,138 students, most of whom are undergraduates, and the number of postgraduates is relatively small, and it attracts students from all over Libya and other countries.
