The University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Timișoara is a well-known medical university in Timișoara, Romania. History and establishment time
The school was established on December 30, 1944, approved by Decree No. 660 signed by King Mihai I of Romania. It was originally a college of the Western University. On January 17, 1945, Decree No. 104 signed by the Ministry of Health recorded the establishment of the Timișoara Medical School. On July 15, 1945, the Medical School officially opened. From 1948 to 1990, it was renamed the Institute of Medicine, and after 1990 it was changed to a university. In 2001, the school was named after the famous scientist Victor Bebes.
