Introduction and Overview
University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova is a public higher education institution located in Craiova, southwestern Romania. It mainly provides undergraduate, master and doctoral degree programs through its various departments and majors, and conducts teaching, research and practical activities in the fields of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry and nursing.
History and establishment time
On February 10, 1970, Craiova Medical School was established within the University of Craiova.
In 1990, the dentistry major was established within the Craiova Medical School.
In 1996, the pharmacy major, namely the School of Pharmacy, was established.
In 1998, the Romanian Parliament passed Law No. 119/05.06.1998, separating it from the University of Craiova and establishing the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova.

Student size: 3404 students in 2011-2012, including 2988 undergraduates and 416 postgraduates.
