Guangzhou Panyu Vocational and Technical College (formerly known as Panyu Polytechnic and Panyu Vocational and Technical College) was established in 1993 and officially approved by the Ministry of Education in September 1997. It is the first public full-time general higher vocational college in Guangzhou. In 2003, it was identified by the Guangzhou Municipal Government as the leading vocational education college in the city. In April 2005, it passed the talent training level assessment of the Ministry of Education with "excellent" results. In December 2006, it was identified by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance as one of the first 28 colleges and universities approved for construction in the "National Demonstration Higher Vocational College Construction Plan". In December 2009, it passed the acceptance of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance and was officially approved as the first batch of national demonstration higher vocational colleges. In November 2010, it was awarded the title of "Advanced Collective of Vocational and Technical Education in Guangdong Province" by the People's Government of Guangdong Province. In May 2014, it won the highest award in my country's vocational education sector-the "Excellent School Award" of the Fourth Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award. In July 2019, it was recognized by the Ministry of Education as a national "High-quality Higher Vocational College". In December 2019, it was selected as one of the "Top 30" high-level vocational colleges with Chinese characteristics. The school is located in Panyu District, Guangzhou City, in the hinterland of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It is built next to Dishuiyan Forest Park, about 15 minutes' drive from Guangzhou South Station, and adjacent to the national 4A scenic spots-Shawan Ancient Town, Baomo Garden, and 5A scenic spot-Changlu Farm. The school is a landscape ecological campus with 5 large and small lakes, and the landscape area accounts for 65% of the total area. The campus is full of lakes and mountains, beautiful scenery, lush flowers and trees, and verdant all year round.
