About Technical University of Moldova

The Technical University of Moldova is the only state-recognized technical higher education institution in the Republic of Moldova. It is located in the capital, Chisinau, and provides engineering education in major fields such as energy, telecommunications, computers, nanotechnology, mechanics, food technology, civil engineering, construction and urban engineering, as well as specialized economic education and cadastral law courses.

History and Establishment

Founded in 1964 as Chisinau Polytechnic Institute, it initially had five faculties: electronics, mechanics, technology, construction and economics, with nearly 5,000 students and 300 academic staff. In 1993, it was renamed the Technical University of Moldova.

Faculty: It has about 733 academic staff members who have rich teaching and scientific research experience in their respective professional fields and can provide students with high-quality education and guidance.

Student size: There are about 9,520 students, including international students from different countries, creating a diverse learning atmosphere.

Scientific research achievements: On July 15, 2022, the country’s first satellite “TUMnanoSAT” built by the Technical University of Moldova was successfully launched into space, demonstrating its strength in scientific research and innovation.

International cooperation: With 57 The university has signed agreements and cooperated with universities in France. It is a member of the French University Agency (AUF). Through this agency, it has established partnerships with higher education institutions in Canada, Belgium, France, Romania, Sweden and Ukraine, providing a broad platform for exchanges between students and teachers, scientific research cooperation, etc.

Expenses

For undergraduate and master's degree students, if you apply for the China-Mordovia intergovernmental tuition exemption program, you can be exempted from tuition fees. You only need to pay other fees such as registration fees and accommodation fees. The registration fee is about 100-300 euros/year, and the accommodation fee is about 50-100 euros/month.
