History and establishment time
On November 1, 1943, the first higher education institution in Penza Oblast, Penza State Industrial Institute, was officially established. It was established on the basis of Odessa Industrial Institute evacuated to Penza. In 1959, Penza State Industrial Institute was renamed Penza State Technical Institute, and in 1993 it was renamed Penza State Technical University, and in 1998 it was finally named Penza State University.
