Introduction

Kursk State Medical University is a medical university with a long history and a high reputation in Russia. It was founded in 1935 and is located in Kursk, southwest Russia. It is one of the top 10 best medical universities in Russia. It has trained many medical professionals by combining traditional clinical teaching with advanced machine simulation teaching.

History

On February 9, 1935, according to Order No. 89 of the Soviet Council of People's Commissars, it was decided to establish a medical school in Kursk, and classes began on September 1 of that year. It was originally named Kursk Medical College. In 1940, the school's first batch of doctors of medicine graduated. From 1941 to 1944, the school was evacuated to Almaty due to the war and became part of the Kazakh Medical College. The school reopened in 1944 and was officially renamed Kursk State Medical University in 1994. Its International Medical Research Institute was established in 1997 and the International Medical College was established in 2020.
