Novosibirsk State Agricultural University is the only comprehensive university in the Siberian Federal District of Russia that focuses on agriculture. The school was established on November 14, 1935 by order of the Soviet People's Commissariat of Agriculture as the Agricultural College. It officially opened on September 1, 1936 and was renamed Novosibirsk State Agricultural University in 1991.
