The Volga State University of Telecommunications and Informatics is one of the famous Russian universities with strong strength in telecommunications, radio engineering, computer science and economics. It is one of the four national universities of telecommunications under the Russian Ministry of Digital Development and the only university of telecommunications in the Volga region.

The school was founded in 1956. Its predecessor was the Kuibyshev Institute of Electronics and Communications. On this basis, it gradually developed into the current Volga State Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics.
